Tam n pups winter trip 2022

I’m sure I saw a picture you posted of you sat outside with tables and chairs outside drinking with others so are you adding to the problems too??
Where?

I guarantee you have never seen me sitting outside in a residential street.

That's the scooter , rack and my drone been dropped off for safe keeping at CaptainPaul brothers house and after a cheeky wee stop at the free aire in Còin to fill up and empty I'm now back in torremolinos at my old spot for a few nights, the aussie from hereford thats here in a swedish motorhome is still here from last week he said hes tried to leave several times but loves the place lol. Amyway im hopeful that the vets will have elas results end of this week so I'm happy to just hang around between here and malaga till then.

I thought I'd notice a difference in the van with the scooter of the back but it's not really noticeable but it will make life easier should I decide to have the bumpers painted while in Morocco. If its cheap enough I will do but otherwise I'll do them myself when back home before it goes up for sale.

It was in a car park
Where?

The one and only picture posted on here of me sitting outside was with razzmatazz on an aire in almerimar.

I haven't sat outside on a chair anywhere else on this entire trip. Because I'm parking not camping.

In Greece etc last year entirely different as I was parked on remote beaches etc.

You would not see me sat outside anywhere in a carpark or a street , in fact anyone who has met me while travelling will tell you I rarely even have my blinds open when I'm parked up on a street or in a carpark . My side step isn't even used. No levellers no windows open ..nothing .

I think we just have to be a bit philosophical. We cannot change what other people (and in my case at least) what we have done to our vehicles.

Annoying for sure, but we cannot turn the clock back.

I’ve a cracked rear light lens as a Frenchman and my dear wife were shouting opposite instructions while I was trying to park between trees in a crowded campsite.

Is a cracked lens an MoT fail, ‘cos it’s a £300 part?
Mine has passed two mots with a cracked lens. Think it's OK as long as the light emitted is the right colour. I did have to replace a flasher bulb as it wasn't orange enough.

P.s there's something quite amusing knowing someone's trawling through pages and pages of this thread trying to find pics of me sat outside in a carpark 😉🤪.

We've been for a mountain bike ride today from Bolnuevo along the coast where the real FLTs park. Our route only did half of the coastal section, but we saw more vehicles camped up there than we've ever seen. The usual permanents, with pallet decking and gardens marked out with stones to the decrepit caravan and normal sized motorhomes with tables and chairs marking their "property" whilst they leave to go elsewhere. But they are all normal, when compared with the one that had us wondering. It was a huge vehicle with slide outs, that had managed to drive in on a mountain bikeable or 4WD only track (in our opinion) towing a car on a trailer. We wouldn't drive those tracks with our old Hymer.

All this may be coming to and end (don't hold your breath for when) because the land along there has now been procured by Mazarron ayuntamiento.

I hope they see sense and open an official parking area, with service point, and close off the rest like they did from the Bolnuevo end.

The locals will be happy then and so will the ones that get a spot in an official place also 🤔😄

Drove to benalmadena yesterday…just to see the free motorhome area.
My 2 brothers and their wives are taking over an apartment near by.
so we’re going to meet up end February.
Close to Ronda at the moment 🌞🌞🌞👍🍺
CaptainPaul was heading to ronda today too

I'll bet that was a German

I saw it in Greece, I swear if they could actually park in the water they would. Its like kids with tonka toys. They don't seem to grasp that just because you can drive somewhere doesn't mean you should.

But it's like a constant challenge for them to get as close to the water as possible.

A bit boring, sitting in the van all the time.

That's the point Charlie I'm very rarely in the van . I'm out walking, looking at stuff etc . Like other tourists . If I want to sit outside then there are countless benches , beaches, cafes etc where I can go sit.

It's hard work remaining in the top 3% of my age group for daily walking

My new Spanish phrase I've learned fluently and I'm just dying to use is

Lo siento , pero quien diablo eres tu?

I see the campers have upset the locals. 🙄
All this talk about they need us, I'm sure there is as many if not more than there ever was, popped into camping Javea to see friends after being told all these people that are not coming either health or decided with the 90 day rule to stay in France, and the sites still full. 😮😁 Bob.

Is there a translate option?

Is there a translate option?
Short version,

They are taking the piss, parking how they want, having tables and chairs out and annoying the neighbours, using local businesses to empty waste and get water.
Council are going to ban them like that have in the coves outside of town.

This being the important part as I said the other day ....

When in a country where its clearly causing an issue why do people insist on still feckin doing it. I mean it is OK to leave the feckin van and walk down to the beach they love to park right next too. Why is there a need to sit right outside it?

I know if I'm parked up someone remote it's nice to sit outside , maybe have a fire or a bbq etc , but I can't see the fun doing that while all parked in a row or cramped In.

I generally like being parked up by myself but it isn't always possible in the locations I want to visit ...in fact in Spain its damm near impossible, I knew that before I came back here. With all the recent restrictions I'm actually just grateful I can still find free parkups in these areas at all . Spain probably has more outside benches , seating areas etc and miles and miles of deserted beach than any other country , I just don't get why folk want to park as close to it as possible and then not actually ever go on it 🤷 I'm on the beach nearly every day. You don't even have to sit in an open cafe or restaurant. There's loads of closed ones with seating out , here in torremolinos there's even sunbeds and loungers at the beach and the place is closed so you can sit or lie there all day for free.

The big difference between Spain and Greece in the winter is there are loads of deserted coastal parkups in Greece you can pretty much do as you please on. In Spain that's very rare these days. But its going to end up that every street within a mile of a beach is going to ban vans completely.
