Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

As well as the satnvav we have Autoroute on a laptop with a GPS receiver. Often plot a route on Autoroute then enter sections as we go on the satnav that way it makes sure we keep to our chosen route.

The annoying bit was I had ignored the satnav several times before that as the route it wanted to take me was via murcia city which was effectively an L shaped route following motorways so I skipped cross-country from hellin to jumilla then to novelda where I let the sat nav take over ....i then passed a services at elche and the next thing I knew I was way past alicante near the airport.

Anyway I got back to elche in the end and i parked up had a spot of lunch and then cycled in to town to visit the palm garden, castle, cathedral etc.
Warm day again today I'm boiling but it's lovely in the sun.

Probably going to head out of town to a nature reserve nearby as it's quieter for overnighting than in the middle of town.

Here's some pics of elche

Were on our way, hoping you can provide some sun which we haven’t seen yet since we arrived in Spain Thursday. After a very wet run through Madrid we are now at Aranjuez and would like a walk around but it’s still coming down in stair rods!
We will try and make Ricote just south of Cieza tomorrow and maybe Totana next day, fingers crossed for some :sun:

If you're definitely coming here. Please let me know the evening before so we can check availability and reserve a spot for you. It's still filling up by the end of the day!

You should definitely be employed by the Spanish Turismo! A better advert for Spain would be hard to find!

Technology at it's best
Santa Pola is nice , but very few shop and restaurant owner speak English . Good laugh trying to work out what you ordered:D. Thankfully when the food came My wife liked one option and I sort of ate the other , was fish based and I'm not keen on fish unless wrapped in the Daily Record :D.
That year our satnav took us to Elche when we were going to Torrevieja , added ages on to the journey.
You're not in any rush so chill and go where the rythym , or in your case , the satnav takes you.
John

Maybe the satnav s are secretly being controlled by the tourist board...

Do you think they bother carrying cut up bits of old bread crate in case their pitch is a bit muddy? ;)

Wall to wall sunshine here in Mojacar the last few days 27 C here today!! :) :)

Nice truck ... shame it appears to be a portacabin stuck on the back.
No it's a proper military pod apparently. ...the guys very proud if it ... €5000 he paid
Historic tax and €100 a year to insure
But horrendous on fuel I couldn't afford to run that

Poxy thing! Why would anyone want such a thing, unless they’re planning on crossing a bog.
He got stuck on the isle of skye with it apparently and because they needed a specialist truck to pull it out it cost him a grand to get it towed lol

We all have different requirements , go a bit further south and he would be in its element , whereas what you drive would be struggling , so its more a matter of opinion and his is just as valid as yours . :)

He's been right down to Cadiz he was telling me of a nature reserve down there. Yes on his way back north now in return journey

Watch out for the Greater Spotted Eagle's.

One (Tonn) has a tracker. He arrives here in October for the winter (like a lot of motorhomers!) and goes home to Estonia for the summer. There is info on him on the net if you Google his name.

It was second hand from gumtree just before Christmas...the guy said that the lights , computer and extras probably cost more than I paid for the bike ....its really light too and very smooth. It was a bargain for sure ...it has continental tyres on it so they probably cost more than that too lol.

But it isn't good for offroading really.

But I'm no dedicated or hard-core cyclist that's for sure so no point in me buying expensive bikes.

Although I'm really getting in to my bike over here ...i use it way more than the scooter

Stick with it my friend, when I said we have three to find new homes for I forgot to say that the cheapest one should fetch 450€...and that looks like it going on Tuesday...reduce from 600€.
Expensive game this biking...just bought 2 eBikes.....at the price of a small secondhand car. (BMW)...anyway if you are passing Totana call in for a night.

I'm not too bad with the food as I know the basic Spanish for stuff like that ....i know all the words it's forming the correct sentences I have problems with and the of course understanding the response as espanol es muy rapido

Ha ha no worries ....i guess it can be expensive if you allow it to be ...like anything really.
But I'm no Danny mckaskill so I don't need a super duper a singing dancing bike ...the one I have has 24 gears I think I use 2 or 3 of them lol ...and it's rare that I'm on an off road track. Because I will be downsizing my van when I'm back in the UK I won't have the scooter in the next van so I'll check out gumtree etc when home and might pick up an off road bike to use aswell as the one i have just now. But to be honest I don't think I've got room in my garage for 2 bikes plus the scooter at the minute ...not without a lot of hassle getting anything in and out of it.
