Do you think it is classed as camping if you go in your car and get the chairs and folding table out of the boot and have a picnic?
Not sure ...problem is with a motorhome it just draws unnecessary attention.

I would have thought that would be "Picnicking", however if you sleep there overnight then thats classified as camping.
So get the matchsticks for the eyes out, drink 10 Red bulls,10 Black coffees then you wont sleep, so you are not then camping:D

Glad you liked it up there Tam, I used to enjoy walking up around there. The market in Villajoyosa is on a Thursday.

However you try and disguise it with healthy salad stuff, its still fish & chips with no batter, so that might be classed as Spanish style low calorie option :D
But I would eagerly eat it at that price, maybe even a few more beers if I knew I would be OK parked up on the front for another night.
Have fun Tam

It's chicken lol ...but it was very nice.
No intention of moving tonight ....seems fine here ...the car park next door has a sign saying no autocaravanna but this one has no signs and the police don't seem interested still only 3 vans here. Probably move tomorrow to alicante but I need an aire for services. But I've heard from Dave and marsha the ones they tried are full of longtermers and no space ( service only for €5 ) so might have to just use services and then find another wild spot.
I'd like to stay round alicante for a few days to explore it but it depends if I can get a decent place.

When do all these longtermers bugger off home ?

Chicken eh? Lol
They probably bugger off when their hospital appointments are due back in Blighty:D.
I stayed at Gran Alicant for a week in a brand new house, didn't think much of the place, but luckily was only there for a week.
Just past Alicanti is Santa Pola, nice harbour town, seemed like a nicer place, plenty of beach parking along from Gran Alicant towards Santa Pola (or there was).
Good luck in finding a place to stay.

Should start calming down towards the end of March:)

Then the Spanish come out to play for Semana Santa, starts the 24th.
End of March probably...BUSBY.
Roll on end of March then lol ....might be a little warmer then too ....my tan is getting patchy I need some beach time.

Alicante castle is worth a look with great views from the top.

Well I waved good bye to villa joyosa this morning and headed to alicante ....1 full cassette and one half full ...and down to 25% on my water tank so needed an aire to service. Went to camper area 7 ...and although he's full to bursting with several vans parked up in the driveway he lets you use the services for a fee €5 so I did that and left ( on a side note that is one seriously cramped aire and reviews say it's one of the best in the area which fills me with dread ) so I have a few wild spots in mind but I'm kind of stuck at the minute as there's a road race or something happening and the local plod have all the roads blocked again with no assistance for strangers to the area and I'm wedged in lol.

I'm gonna have to stop trying to travel on a Sunday the roads are quiet but the town's are a nightmare as always something happening on a Sunday

Got feckn ripped off in the launderette. Bloody dryer €7 in total and still not dry
Machine kept cutting out ..woukd only work on low or medium temp and no heat out it
So now have 2 bags of damp washing and it's raining ...nearest launderette is 4.8km away.

Grrrrrr

Could be worse Tam, you could be in the UK where it's been so cold it's been uncomfortably cold inside much of my (old) house, let alone outside.

Thaw has started today though, thankfully. Never thought I'd be glad to see a day where it's just cold & drizzling!

Me to snow around kinross and fife terrible and still snowing hope the washing drys soon nothing worse than damp washing :(

We have been cut of from Monmouth and Chepstow since Thursday morning, snow plough got through today so we have got a single track through. It’s amazing though how all the pr**ks in 4 x 4’s claim the Devine right to keep driving at you! It’s proper Wall of Death stuff- look at the pics.

You are brave, @GROGGY64. Wouldn't even take a 4x4 (if I had one) in those kind of conditions, unless it was an absolutely essential journey.

Thanks, @monzer, it's a 1994 Talbot Express Compass Calypso. We bought it in 2010 and it has taken us all over the UK plus France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and Northern Spain. This year we're hoping to drive through France and Spain as far as Cádiz - well, to be precise, El Puerto de Santa María and then take a water taxi across to Cádiz. It's been on our bucket list for a while.

The Talbot Express is a great unit. I have one (1991) housing a Elddis Autostratus. It's in storage in Alicante at the moment but it's MOT time unfortunately (n)

How much miles are on yours?

(Sorry for hijacking your thread @Northernraider )
