Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

That looks very healthy! I love the vegetables in France and Spain :)

Sorry to hear of your misfortune earlier on.
Yeah definately a lot better quality than the UK....i go through loads of fruit so it's good to get fresh here for so little.

I'm just glad the mishaps weren't too serious ...although when I first saw the bumper knocked off I thought it was a garage job. Just relieved that there wasn't serious damage and that I had my tools and things on board to fix it

Well I've had a bloody nightmare of a morning so far i wish I'd stayed in bed.

It's raining so I decided to move and thought I'd head to altea.

Got myself sorted and went to pull away from the kerbside where I was parked last night ....i was boxed in front and back by other motorhomes that had arrived after so I had to give it a fair turn .....but high pervs and tailswing don't go and to cut a long story short I pulled the bleeding back bumper and the light cluster off the blooming van.
Fortunately the bumper itself not the lights were damaged just a few screws broken and pulled out the body. An hour spent in the rain and it's all reattached ....im glad I had my toolboxes , electric drill , tube of sikaflex and boxes of bits and bobs with me now I'll tell you. ...cant believe how few screws were holding that all on originally but there's double that now .

So I then headed to altea which is the busiest main road I've come across here yet. First place on my hit list was packed so I gave that a miss and headed further in to town.

It's market day and lots of motors about ....got flustered trying to get in the carpark and I only went and hit the side of the van ( or awning) on the bloody sign. ....had to reverse back out much to the annoyance of the cars around me and go round the roundabout and try again .....

First glance again I think I've got lucky I can't see any damage so here's hoping.

Parked in a crappy carpark in the rain feeling right sorry for myself ....
Gonna have a cuppa and go check out this market.

Then I might go back to bed before anything else goes wrong

Blimey what a time to catch up with your journey. :crying::doh: But.............. not the first time I have read about Frankia not so good technic. :whistle2:
Have a read of this blog on this very damp day.

(y) Safe travels. :D Bob.

Yep thats the same as mine at the rear and I pulled of the bottom section and the right hand light section....held on with only 7 screws bloody ridiculous.
I'm just glad there's no scratches or damage and most of the screws just snapped so I replaced them ...sikaflexed the old screwholes and drilled new ones and put new screws in ....and 16 instead of the 7 originals

Yeah if it had been warm and sunny I'd have done that today but maybe next week I'll sample beni for a few days or so.
But only if I can get my awning and chairs out .....thats the only benefit of a site for me lol

Very true ....and it could have been worse.
When I saw that bumper on the ground I really thought it was gonna be a garage job.
So all in all not too bad.
Think I'll stay put the rest of today though as you know what they say about things happening in 3.

OMG! No selfies please.:eek::eek::eek:

If you get one of those I'm not going to help you wash it.:ROFLMAO:
Pmsl ....do you really think I'd be seen dead in Speedos? Those are for hairless Germans

I'm a scotsman .....ive tartan trunks

You don't wash one of those they are designed to look dirty ....the owner of that one is obviously an estate agent with no real use for a 4x4 if I owned that it would have off road tyres and be pictured up a mountain somewhere .....level of course (for the fridge)

I'm taking Frankia up to the motor museum tomorrow and will try and visit the falls on the scooter tomorrow or Thursday. Might hit Benidorm for the weekend but I've my eye on a wild spot near the old town ....or I may consider a site for a couple of days if that doesn't work out.

So I left cloudy altea this morning and drove up to the motor museum at guadalest.
What a lovely place with some beautiful machines ...its a shame he doesn't have much space as they would benefit from being a little more spread out ....but for a petrol head like me it's a fantastic wee place.
There's many of them I'd have loved to take home but the little piagio car in pale blue is my favourite

I've now driven further up to the castle and just parked up....you can stay over here included in the parking price so that's the plan.
Just going to have a coffee then go explore the castle.

They aren't 'arf crammed in, you van looks bigger than the museum.:)
Yeah it's not very big which is a shame because they are all fantastically restored but trying to get close enough for a good look is difficult.

I love the Bultaco’s, I had a 250 Sherpa like the red one on the left of the second museum photos.

So many beautiful bikes in there some probably in better condition than they were new.

Well "el castel de guadalest" is well worth a visit ...what a lovely wee town and breathtaking scenery around it. I didn't go inside the castle on this occasion as I've been in a few of late and I think I'm a little castled out for now but got some pics of the outside and the views

Today's tunes while driving through the mountains ......one of my favourite songs ( as I often do things my way ) but sang in Spanish by Julio :)

Watch that post on your off side when you pull away. Know what your drivings like. :D2(y)

Lovely photos Tam, That "Dodgy" road up there wasn't as bad as some mentioned then, so it was well worth it. The Red car in the museum is a Renault A110 1600 CC twin webber 45DCOE,s, a Swiss mate had one, his brother also, they are getting rare now, with astonishing prices to match, what an experience that was years ago thrashing it through the Alps.:D
Somehow, despite invitations, I dont think The Beni Lifestyle is gonna suit you, you are wild hunter never to be tamed, keep it that way.
All the best
Les
