I think I am right in saying that @ianthebuilder has some fun coming over the mountain road when he was there. I cant really comment if I had problems or upset many locals

The option you haven't mentioned is the overnight with an orange lady for a few quid more , then breakfast:D.
we obviously pay too much to eat out here in Uk when you see the price of grub and beer in Spain. keep the posts and photos coming Tam,
John

The mountain road is fun in a tag I have to say ...i spent half it on the other side of the road and at one point I got overtaken by 14 bikes ....as in push bikes

Hmm - I've just returned from the local pub, nothing remarkable it's a chain pub but the food is OK, a meal and soft drinks all round - £87! Admittedly there's 5 of us, but I bet we'd have got much more for that in Spain. The kids wonder why we don't eat out so much in the UK.....

It's all relative though I suppose. We had a light lunch with soft drinks last year at a hotel in Switzerland - not a posh hotel - OK, the location was stunning, the food was ok but unremarkable, no better than you'd find in most cafes - and that was over £110 !

Tam, you're not far off my age I reckon, maybe a few years in it but not many - I'm very jealous of your travels, as I think of another rushed weekend doing DIY followed by back to work on Monday.......

Hmm, I wonder which nationality that is aimed at.....

How can they make any money at that price though????

Yeah this place is full of brits though all I hear is English accents everywhere.
It's a nice wee place but very touristy
But I agree how it's possible to turn a profit at that is beyond me

Hmm, that little Talbot coachbuilt at the top of this page - is it me or does the wheelbase look so short compared to the body that it looks like it could tip over backwards at any moment? Maybe that's how you change the engine - undo the mounts and the whole van just tips backwards!

I am surprised that's the first pussy you've stroked in Spain !
Stroked a few more today ...lots of wild cats here and an English lady who comes round and feeds them all ...they take them sterilize them and bring them back so they just live wild

A friend of mine used to do that in Poros, Greece and I used to help driving the transport, setting the traps etc. and returning the cats to their locality. They used to get volunteer vets, mainly from UK, and the charity used to pay their accomodation locally - so for the vets it was a working holiday; they were some very nice people.

Unfortunaely that lady died of cancer.

Have to say that the prices in Portugal seem to have gone up a bit this year

Nice 3 course dinner in scallops ...nothing fancy but decent grub and certainly filling.

Then popped down the octopus rock bar for a few pints ....just staggered back to the van

Wee cup of coffee before bed I think .....great night and cost €20 Lol

I'm a cheap date I am

My daughter did that every year for a while. She went to Portugal, Spain, Ukraine, Botswana, Tibet and Panama City.
The Botswana one was great as the sponsors, a safari company, gave her and her vet nurse a free 2 day private safari with plane and safari lodge.
The Tibetan one a bit distressing as a lot of very sick cows and one on ground lying in own mess. There wasn’t much they could do but not allowed to put down.
The working days very very long with a production line of speys. I think they did 300 in one day in Panama.!
The charity is the World Veterinary Service. WVS
