Guys had a fair bit of trouble doing it , fitted a new windscreen rubber too which probably caused them most of the trouble ....still doesn't look quite right to me as a bit bumpy looking compared to before ..but will see.
My worry is they pumped a sealant in around the seal then he shoved it in and cleaned off the excess but it looks bumpy and once that sealant sets it will stay bumpy. I'll see how it is in a few days but I may get them to come back out and check it.When Autoglass did ours they had to come out again as the rubber wasn’t sitting right and it does look a bit different on the corners, as if the screens slightly the wrong curve but it’s been no problem.
Thing is jade likes every dog she loves meeting all her friends in the park she's very sociable so I can't see her objecting to any.I can see the temptation of adding to your canine family and giving yourself something to look forward to in these unhappy days.... but ..... might it be better to wait a bit and then choose a pup when you and Jade can meet them? Chemistry between dogs can vary and you need to be sure its one she's happy with. I'm certainly not trying to put you off a second dog.... I usually have two and think it's brilliant for you and them.
And good luck with your Mum .x

Well I've just reserved little milo and he will be joining jade and I.
I wanted a dog for years but living alone and working 12 hour shifts plus an hour commute time made it impossible so I.had cats. Then when I decided to go travelling I contemplated taking them with me but 1 had already adopted another family nearby and had been staying with them more than me for about 2 years so they kept him and the other I tried to get used to going trips in the car etc and he just hated it so my friend hazel adopted him and he now lives a pampered life with her. You're making me feel guilty Tam. Our last dog died 13 years ago, and at the time we had a small baby so it wasn't the right time to get another dog. Well, since then there have been 2 more kids appear, but the youngest is now 8 - and there will be no more - so the young kids excuse is wearing out.
Then there's the work excuse - not fair to leave a dog all day. Well, I work from home about half the time anyway - can't guarantee that will last forever - but Mrs F works school hours, so the longest a dog would ever be left is 9am - 3:30pm, which is manageable I think.
Then there's the holiday excuse. Not saying we're soft, but our last dog we used to take to my in-laws near Manchester in the car, before we went across the channel on our motorbike to mainland Europe. Fair enough. Only detail was, we lived in Southampton - so it was an 8 hour round trip at the beginning and end of our holiday, despite living 30 minutes from the ferry - all because the dog would have been miserable in kennels. Like I said, we're soft. Now, we've either got dog coming away with us in the MH (although 5 people + dog would be a little crowded.....) or dog going to stay with my parents, who are only 30 minutes away, providing it got on with their dog. So the holiday excuse is a little thin.
The kids would love a dog - especially my daughter. She's 14, determined to go to university, so only at home for another 4 years or so full time.
Now can you see why I'm feeling guilty. Last dog was a border collie from a rescue centre, 9 years old, we were his retirement home. He was as soft as butter. Another older dog may be on the cards after Christmas...….

Exactly....thing is I think I like animals more than people .Indeed! We're not really cat people - I like cats well enough, I just can't see myself having one as a pet, plus we've got lots of birds in the garden. Can't abide having anything in a cage, which rules a lot of other pets out. So a dog it is I think.....
No *practical* reason to have a dog at all. But who wants to be practical?
12hr shifts done that 4 on 4 off 2 days 2 nights hell also done few other patterns best one old continental one 8hr shifts days /afternoons / nights got lieu time with that - theres a global company in irvine does shift work.I wanted a dog for years but living alone and working 12 hour shifts plus an hour commute time made it impossible so I.had cats.
It was only once I started my trip last year that I thought about a wee dog as a companion and then I got jade. I've already decided though that buying a house and staying one place again isn't for me ( at the minute ) so I've no intention of doing the type of work again that I did before either and would probably look more in to like event marshalling work or even working on a concentration camp ( oops sorry campsite) or something so wouldn't be far from dogs hopefully
Especially how things are with mum....if she goes I really have nothing keeping me here so I'll be looking to try and move somewhere else.

I would give it a try, our old dog Sam (see Avatar) had real aggression issues with other dogs, but when we introduced a young bitch into the house they soon got along. Holly used to hang off his neck and bite his ears, but if she got to rough he would just bark at her and she would stop.Dont know what to say for mum but she is your mum
Jade may or may not accept another dog my dog is very territorial ( collie ) jade looks very similar i'd steer clear of 2nd dog if i was you and just make a donation to help other rescue dogs in need
