Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

Well I've stopped for the night in the same place I stopped the first night I left to start my trip.
Back here in Berwick , don't like driving franky once it's dark really and it's been a long day for jade. So we will stop here and only an hour and a half from home in the morning

Bet you can’t wait to get home now and you won’t sleep much tonight or you may well do as you’ve had a long day driving...

You’ll drive down your street and you’ll expect it to have changed but it will all still be the same..:D2

Enjoy catching up with your family Tam and don’t let jade get spoilt....;)

Dam,missed you were sitting in the lay bye at Haggerson for the night heading to see Cliff in Newcastle. We only live couple of miles from you in Crosshill, enjoyed your travels . Cheers Sam and Viv.

I did see several vans parked in there and had thought about stopping but thought it was too close to the road so came here

Morning from cold and windy Berwick.. ..lovely nights sleep really quiet and i was serenaded to sleep by the waves crashing on the shore, was a little windy when I went to bed but like a tornado when I woke up fortunately I was parked in to the wind so didn't have to endure the skylights rattling all night.

The waves have died down now and aren't as spectacular as they were when I arrived which is a shame as I'd liked to have got a few pics last night but here's a few from this morning although they aren't the best I sort of jumped out took them and dived back in to the warmth of franky it's bloody freezing out there brrrrrrView attachment 205422 View attachment 205423 View attachment 205424 View attachment 205426

I'm off to hunt down go outdoors now batteries are really knackered now not sure they will last much longer
Eeeeeeyy how time flies ...im in exactly the same spot :p

Great spot, we we

Yeah I can't remember if they were there last time or not but I noticed them tonight when I drove in.

You may find Tam that a smaller van will feel cramped after the space you’ve been used to.
Also be aware that you’ve had all this storage-garage etc-a smaller van won’t necessarily be the same!
Why are you changing the van, personally if Franky works for you & it’s been good this last year, it hasn’t stopped you going anywhere, the only probs you’ve had have been minor really. Think I would stay with the van I know!

I'm changing really because I can't afford to keep a van of this value ( actually that isn't true i can afford to i just don't want to ) ..i only ever bought franky with the plan to keep her one year and the resell it.

My original budget when buying a van was 20k but I couldn't find what I wanted at that price so I bought this one.

The downsizing part is just because the more space you have the more stuff you seem to carry because you can.

The wee franky I viewed is actually amazingly spacious it's a good layout and the storage is immense for such a small van.

But the cab feels very confined as it's a coachbuilt sprinter. And the couple have had it 13 years and never used the shower etc .

It's also on the sprinter chassis rather than an alko one

I haven't ruled it out it's in good overall condition ...does need a few wee bits done on it. .fridge isn't working properly and there's a few of the locks on lockers broken etc but nothing overly serious.

I think any smaller and especially coachbuilt van is going to feel strange after franky

If this one was sold I'd have probably came home with the little one yesterday

Think that's my biggest worry is having 2 vans at my mum's for possibly 5 or 6 months

Glad you made it home safe Tam, you have a lot of catching up to do, Mum will be so pleased to see you.
Take her some flowers but not grapes as you will probably eat them all.
Best wishes

Pretty sure there's a town down the a1 called spittal on le street

Seems popular name and if like to think it wasn't the spit from the mouth it was named after lol

Bet Jade isn't impressed with the weather! Only really known sunshine, bad enough going gracefully in to a Spanish winter for her first time without being rapidly transported to Scotland!!

She'll survive and meet a lot of new people to make a fuss of her, not all bad!
