Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

Well done on the brakes, beyond me these days though when younger I thought nothing of any mechanical repairs.
Our dogs love being under the motorhome, it's usually cool but I think it's mainly because it's a protected space where they feel able to relax completely.
I have to say doing it outside in this heat isn't fun. ..shirt was soaking with sweat by the time I'd finished ...but all back together now and all working nice and smooth ...the delay on the parts gave me a chance to give them a good clean up and do all my tyre pressures etc too.

Jade loves lying under the van bit I was a bit concerned with her wrapping her lead around the axle stands etc lol.
But she likes to see what I'm doing p

There's some people motorhomes seem oblivious to just how inconsiderate they are.
I'm sat waiting to get in to the service bay on an aire ...theres now 4 vans behind me also waiting and the dithering idiot that's been using it for the last 20 mins is standing wiping down his water hose before rolling it up , he's already been rinsing his breakfast dishes under the tap and washing his windscreen.

Nationality shall remain anonymous
As I know you like everyone who stays on an Aire, I thought you might like this. We are staying on the Aire at Rocamadour at the moment (a decent free Aire - no facilities or camping behaviour). One van had their awning and loungers out. Whenever another van tried to park anywhere near, even on the other side they got a right mouthful. He's still got no-one anywhere near! Everyone else here is fine :)

I would have run over his loungers :)

It does help I'm 6 ft 4 and tattoed he wouldn't have given me a mouthful but then to be fair I wouldn't have squeezed in between unless I had no other options

There's probably room for 3 on one side and 2 on the other. I would love to see him get surrounded over night :D

I might not understand or like when folk decide to park right next to me when there plenty free space ...but really there's nothing you can do about it ...

Although I have imeddietly moved further away as soon as folk have parked before ....usually giving them a good shake of the head to get my point accross lol

People that park too close to me generally move when they hear my wheelchair scraping down the side of their van..:D2

It's almost worth carrying a wheelchair just for that pleasure :D

I honestly will never understand cuddlers when there's lots of space.

But on a service aire with laid out bays I kind of always expect to have someone either side of me.

That's why I generally only use them for the service areas and then wildpark somewhere else.

On my next van I'm gonna fit those blades like boudasia

If you have never tried this from mercadona you haven't lived .... €1.99 A tin and it's lush

I’m not a coffee drinker but I will have a cappuccino now and again but I love caramel so I’ll give that a go when I’m out there this winter....(y)

At that price I guess you’ll be filling the garage with it..:D

I've been buying the plain cappuccino here for months I only discovered this one today but now I have I'll be buying a few tins in the next day or two before I leave Spain as it's really nice.

This is officially the nosiest aire I've ever been on ....trains every 30 minutes and they blow bloody whistles

I feel like I'm on the set of Thomas the tank engine.

There's also a halfwit with a small Willy and a big exhaust driving up the street trying to see how few miles per gallon he can get.

Why do they always put aires in stoopid places

With some I'm sure it's a shortage of common sense. We returned to a CMC campsite this afternoon. A car in front of us stopped at the entrance (card operated) barrier then left the car whilst he called in at reception. A small queue formed behind us. After around a minute my good lady, not known to mince her words, went to the reception office to find out what he was up to. He was waiting to be served whilst another camper booked in. He'd forgotten his barrier card. Now I, and I presume anyone, with a tiny bit of common sense would have parked to one side so no-one else was inconvenienced. He seemed to think it was a bit of a joke. My wife put him straight :D.

Yep some folk seem oblivious

Same with the ones that can't parallel park for toffee yet they still attempt to reverse there Mondeo in a Micra space while holding up a mile of cars and wonder why you peep at them.

I must be the only person that rushes around in motorhome services so that I'm not holding anyone up longer than need be

You're not the only one. I feel guilty if the water pressure is low and it takes longer than expected to fill up. Emptying a cassette, cap off, empty and go. I hate being behind someone who spends ages repeatedly rinsing, aren't they going to use it again?

Yeah some of them go mental with the rinsing. Also some have a poor system where they empty first and go do cassette etc and then they fill the fresh.

I connect my fresh up first so it's filling while I do the rest ...i hate having a queue behind me. Even in the petrol station which is another pet hate ...folk fill up then go do their shopping or sit on the loo for 10 minutes lol

Yes, as there are two of us) , if the service point layout allows we will empty and fill at the same time with SWMBO supervising while I empty the cassette.

Ah the benefits

I've to do it all myself unfortunately

Jade can't work the hose connections:(

So doggy owners
As people keep saying it's better to take your own worming tablet to the vets with you where do you buy worming tablets here in Spain?
Someone mentioned a farmacia ...would this be right?

Or am I better just getting at the vets?

Last couple of days in Spain now ...in Santander just now stopped to have lunch but will probably find a nicer place outside of city. Kinda bored with sightseeing just now lol. Will get back in to that in France probably.

Weather's gone dull and cooler today which I could have done with yesterday when fitting brakes in the roasting heat lol

Typical really

I would say if going somewhere like the vet at Mailleraye sur Seine , don’t both just get tablet from them when you go.
You would only use your own tablet if you’ve bought it in UK.

If/when you go abroad with Jade again get the (Drontal) worming tablet from your Vet before leaving UK.

When you are ready to come back to UK this time just go to Vet they will supply the tablet.
Some Vets charge a lot for the return to UK but Mailleraye seem reasonable!

I wouldn't worry, like most drugs or treatments its down to her weight, she'll only need a small tablet, mine have 2 and a half digestive sized things each!

I still don't take anything from the UK, but that's because I'm not usually organised enough!

Ha ha I don't know if your serious or not lol but that sounds a very big dog

We don't take our own tablets with us. We find the French vets charge less than the British ones but then we don't get them done anywhere near the channel ports, in fact our usual vet is 390miles from Calais.

On the Aire this morning one took the bay up while he refilled his fresh water with a 5 litre bottle into his tank inside the van - lost count how many he did.

Agree about the cassette washing....why?
Empty, rinse done
