Oh oh.Well I think I must have tempted fate lol.
The wee town of odeciexe was getting very busy and I was getting dirty looks for taking up 3 parking spaces so I decided to move back to rogil as there were no signs saying no autocaravanna etc and thought I'd just move again early morning.
So I got there parked up 2 other vans here I started making my dinner and a knock at the door
Gnr
Policeman was nice enough he said overnight not allowed ...daytime no problem but not after sundown ....he asked for Id and van documents
Which I have him....he insisted I was not getting a fine only advised off the parking restrictions in the national park . He copied all my details off my licence and my log book on to a form which was all in Portuguese which again he insisted was only regulations and information on the nature park.
He had me sign this form which I did on the word that it was not a fine
He said I can stay tonight and parking here is ok tomorrow daytime but then I must move
Which was my intention anyway.
So has anyone any experience of this ?
Guy seemed nice enough but I've heard stories on here before of someone being fined after they were told it wasn't a fine.
I didn't get a copy of the form he had me sign

They didn't give me a copy he just pointed to a lot of Portuguese writing and said it was information on the nature park regulations etc. Insisted it was not a fine and asked me to sign it ...he did the same with the other 2 vansTam have you google translate on your phone if you place your phone on the paper work it may tell you.
Loving your adventures and photos.
Oh oh.
Yes I do hence my suspicion of him.O dear, do you not remember this thread ?
https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/fine-arrived-from-portugal.174837/
Yes I thought by the amount of paperwork he was filling in ( 2 different forms each vehicle ) that i was getting a copy which wouldn't have been much good in a foreign language but would still have had something showing details of officer etc.Only time will tell,I’m afraid.
It’s not good that you don’t get a copy of what you signed.....should be a law against it........probably is!
I wonder what the nice policeman would have said/done if you refused to sign.
There was a young girl in a transit van not sure if she was Portuguese or Spanish but she was pretty fiesty and kept arguing with the other cop ...once she signed she drove off but there was another motorhome too which is still here so I might go over and ask them what they thoughtAre any of the other vans that had to sign are Portuguese, if so ask if they know what you were signing for.
Don't know of any castle at Porto Covo, maybe you mean the Fort at Pessegueiro. I was told by a GNR guy that I couldn't stay there but a Potuguese camper stayed.Went over to see the other motorhome and they are Portuguese and spoke some English. They say it isn't a fine just a warning but they keep your details and if they see you again then they will fine you. That said they said they have been visiting here and all up and down this coast for 4 years and first time they have had police speak to them.
Apparently the police told them you can park at the beach at carraptiera without problems lol which is where I was for two nights the other day.
That's the problem they are inconsistent.
Apparently Porto covo near the castle is ok too
I dunno

And where are you ?Found a nice wild spot for the night unfortunately it's full of long term flt's so no nice view as I'm outside of it but can't be bothered moving
I am curious where they are dumping though as theres nothing around here.
I'm just going by what I buy and it's dearer here than at home and what i was spending in Spain. You talk about not finding a good supermarket in Portugal and it is dearer than Spain or Britain,I would disagree with you on that. I can’t see by Pingo Doce or Continente for variety and value,Mercadona has a limited wine range and standard range of food whereas the two supermarkets I have mentioned have varied specials every week at good value. And you can’t beat the Portuguese chicken against the old hens that are sold in Spain.
