Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

You know what I miss in spain sometimes

Take aways ....you never see a Chinese or Indian takeaway ....or fish and chips:p

Any Chinese or Indian Restaurants will do takeaway even if it's not advertised as such. For fish and Chips you have to go to where the Brits are...Benidorm (Ray's) for example...think Javea, Denia and Calpe have them too...not sure. No Fish & Chips in Valencia city though!

As you are going back towards Murcia maybe @gus-lopez can direct you to a chippy.:whistle2:

It's just the occasional craving for something different but thanks for the tip on the Chinese and Indian. ..next time I crave one I'll google and see what's about.

I just cooked this instead, pork chop , pasta with tomato and oregano and fried garlic tomatoes and peppers ) ....was rather tasty

Just back from a site not to far from your neck of the woods. stayed three nights at Tayview site in Monifieth, terrific weather , nice walk into "The Ferry" , couple of beers , and not an orange seller in sight:D. Not as warm as where you are, but , bloody warm for Scotland.
Need to go back half a dozen pages to see what you've been up to. Will probably do it during next Engerland game, prepare for incoming:LOL:.
Hope you're still enjoying the trip .

Will get the spots from you at some point thanks a lot , not the place to be next month though with the Open Golf at Carnoustie.
while we were there thinking it was warm , my son sent us a photo of his car's outside temp , it read 31 at 5pm on Thurs.
Keep safe.

Well I'm so happy today i could breakdance

I'd went on the bike for ten minutes yesterday with jade and it was just torture ....felt like the chain was going to snap at any minute so we gave up.
Had a look online this morning for bike shops near aguilas and found these guys

BICIS BURU

Calle Isidoro de la Cierva, 34, 30880 Águilas, Murcia
968 41 32 40

Broken Link Removed

So parked up in a side street and took the bike around to them , one of the staff spoke english so I explained I needed a new chain and cassette ....mechanic came and took bike 5 minutes later and I assumed he was just having a look .....next thing I see him take the cassette off in less than 5 minutes. ..new one fitted wheel back on chain on and all gears tuned, gave all the bits a going over with a rag and then lubricated it ....whole job done in less than 30 mins and a grand total of 35 euros

Bike is going great now back to the lovely smooth ride it was before no creaks or slipping gears ....

I'm really chuffed can't reccomend these guys enough so I gave them 40 euros for a great service.

Just goes to show that some places are chancers ....nothing wrong with the wheel just a crappy mechanic ...give it to someone who actually wants to repair old bikes and no problems

Left them an appropriate review too.

takes us months to get from sagunt to aguilas. might not even get that far some winters .
hug the coast , take every turning to the sea .

I never drive too fast in the MH I'm rarely over 50mph and never over 60mph ...im only moving quick just now as jade has the vet in totana in a few days then I'll be trundling towards Portugal

its ok we tend to hardly do 40mph .
i think me and my mate have driven artics for so long that only could be used at 40mph on normal roads its now a habit .
i know its been upped to 50mph but we like 40 or below . nose in gardens look over hedges . we are looking every where .
we do drive many smaller roads where even doing 25-30mph is too fast.
we say although we are both class1 drivers or were now in spain we arent allowed on toll roads /motorways ,avoid dual carriage ways .
we are getting more childish ever year and children arent allowed to play on busy roads .
used to be doing 500miles aday when driving long distance so these days we drive alot less .
mind we do ha ve some long drives in a day but only on narrow winding back roads . some are like being in the italian job film . great fun but you dont drive fast.
have a good one .

Right I've just arrived in bolnuevo. .somewhere I stayed before about 4 months ago.
When I stayed here last time there was about 20 vans parked up here but this time there's only one tucked over near the houses which is a little strange, i wanted to stay here tonight. There is a sign which says motorhome and caravan parking but above it there's another sign saying no tents caravans etc. Don't want any aggro from plod but it's getting late.

The signs have been there a long while but it is getting into the season now and plod may start enforcing the rule.

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that sign is saying that caravans and motorhomes are NOT allowed to park there.

No it's stating motorhomes and caravans to park in either direction of the sign. The rest of the carpark is for cars.
And the little sign at the top says no camping

Yes the sign was there last time too , I remember a few folk getting told off by the Guardia for having chairs out etc but generally they didn't bother about folk overnighting.

Few places I've past today that were full of motorhomes a few months back but have none now but I do know this region was clamping down.

There's a Spanish van parked up over by the houses and now a Dutch converted merc and trailer gas parked up next to it.

Only going to be here one night so I'll take my chances and see

Just the opposite, the sign is saying no parking in either direction for motorhomes and caravans.

The top sign says no camping

Edit: the sign actually means no stopping, parking and the sign below qualifies the categories.

Really ?? Guess I'm gonna have to go park beside the other ones by the houses then as no sign on that bit ....

Good to know you have your bike all sorted and just goes to show you have to shop around :)

I’d park right in the middle of the sign, not either side of it....:D2
Lol this is where they go wrong ...if they don't want motorhomes parked there then enforce it all year round not just in the summer when they get plenty tourists to put money in to the bars etc. Can't have it both ways.
All it's done is move vans in to the neighbouring streets....ive just taken jade a quick walk and seen 4 vans in different streets 1 brit 2 French and a German.

Meanwhile big empty carpark
Nuts

It Certainly does i was nearly dumping this bike and it's as good as new now
You may remember that God knows how many posts & one disappointing visit to a bike shop ago I suggested you might want to look at it yourself. Just think of all the unnecessary trauma you've caused yourself (and your readers) that wouldn't have happened if you'd got your hands dirty :D.

I didn't have the tool to remove the cassette lol ....and didn't have anything to hold the bike on to adjust the gears either.

To be honest for how well it's going now I don't grudge paying that to have it fixed properly ....its better than it ever was now

Crazy isn’t it.... I was there last winter and there were about 15 vans parked during the day and all had left by the time we came back from the town....

Yes I stayed here 2 nights in April loads of vans ..police back and forth every few hours and never said a thing and the vans were all parked in a row either side of that sign which is why I assumed the sign was telling vans to park at that part of the carpark.
