I know I seem like I'm anti French and really I am not but I've had another load of French Muppets today.

First of I went to the aire at Rota this morning to dump and fill ....i noticed on park4night there was an issue with the water tap but that a makeshift tap had been provided in meantime so I thought jobs a good un and worse case scenario I'll just dump and I'll sort eater out elsewhere. So I arrived at the aire ....no one at the services so I pulls in and pulls the plug on the grey water to drain gets my two cassettes over to the dump point lifts the lid and I've emptied the first one in the drain but it hasn't all went down the hole next minute there's a bloody French dude standing behind me waiting to empty a bucket of water ....hovering where my excrement is in full view ...i empty the second cassette and still there's turd that hasn t gone down the hole yet .....press the tap above it and of course it don't work so I grab my bucket and go to the tap to fill it so I can rinse the dump point and my cassettes.

Meanwhile the French dude still stands there staring at the contents of my cassette ..... Talk about embarrassing I mean surely he wasnt that desperate to empty his bucket and if he was he could at least have used it to wash the poo Doon the drain lol



So anyway I finally get it all cleaned and van filled with water etc which is a bit of a palava but a nice German guy helps with the tap and we get it sorted and off I went.

Find a nice spot at sanlucar to park up on the beach ....few vans scattered about but loads of places to park leaving lots of space etc and camping behaviour is allowed. .few Spanish vans with tables and chairs etc out

So about 6.30 in comes 3 French vans in convoy and where do they park but 2 alongside me and one accross the front of them both ....completely blocking the view of the beach and the bloody sun .....they then fire up a gas bbq and set up 3 tables alongside each other etc ....i gave it 10 minutes and thought stuff you and I drove round the other side of them and parked up in the sun again .....and now they are in the shade.

I heard a rabble of French as I closed the blinds and I've now got my chair out and the stereo on to drown them out .....shoukd be a nice sunset :)

As I said I really don't dislike the French

But their motorhomers are a bloody weird lot


Their students on the other hand are rather lovely :p

None if these guys are genuine they just try it on ....2 different Spanish motorhomers have told me they just prey on tourists and folk who don't know.

I'm surprised folk haven't tried this in the UK
Wear a hi viz and a bum bag and just make up a price lol

A friend of mine got caught by similar scam trying to get into Gibraltar. They were queuing in car to get past border. Couple of lads approached and offered to bypass queue for 5euros then led them back to main road and scarpered. He never did get onto gib.

Err they did try it...here in Liverpool..years ago...some Erm enterprising person opened!!! the gates on some wasteland right by Aintree Racecourse..stuck a sign up saying all day parking £3 on production of a Grand National ticket, they had many takers and knew they had all day to remove the car radios!!!

You can normally get your stereo and wheels nicked for nothing (y)

In march this year on my way in to Gib in a hire car a guy in a high viz surcoat flagged me down and demanded 5 Euros - the charge for bringing a hire car into Gib!!

I told him no - he grinned and moved on to the next car!! :)

I'm sick this morning:(

No idea what with but I woke at 6.30 when jade usually wants in for a cuddle ...i was up had a wee and back to bed. .
Fell back asleep and when I woke up at 8.10 the room is spinning, I've no balance I keep falling over I'm heaving and boaking but there is nothing in my stomach to come out except a little bile , I'm burning up and sweating like mad , everytime I close my eyes the room sound really fast making me dizzy.

It's weird
 
What about heat stroke/sunstroke Tam?I've never had it, so know very little about it -but it is serious -so suggest you Google it in case.

Hi Tam hope your feeling better soon. Having just had an ear infection about 3 weeks ago it does sound possible, had to take anti biotics from docs, then he said infection will clear up after a week or so but it can take another 4 or 5 weeks to feel completely fine.

Sounds like what I had when in Germany a couple of years a go, throwing up all night every time I stood up fell over dizzy, good news was it only lasted a day or two.

No sympathy, its my birthday and I'm in bed ill.:)
