Tam & co the great winter escape

I've got the same model in my van, when my fridge 'let go' last year it frighten the life out of me. I'm sure it would wake the dead.

Looks like at 6ft 3in the floor will be the best option.(y)
At least then the doggies can stretch out on the sofa lol

Looking forward to following your travels, always a bit nerving going on a long journey with a new van
that you have hardly used but I’m sure all will be good , take care 👍

Really looking forward to seeing and hearing about your new adventure Tam. Especially the drone footage 😍
Your trip to Greece last year inspired me to buy a drone (DJI Mini 2 that I haven’t had chance to get my head around and actually use yet 🤷‍♀️)
Hope you find a solution for the bed issue. Safe travels 🙂

Finally back from taking mum shopping you would think she was never going to see a shop again ...i then had to help her try and put all the extra stuff she bought away lol. So just having a spot of lunch before we head off ...

For those who follow Lenny HB thread and enjoy guessing the price of lunch ive included a pic View attachment 552847

I thought that too but didn't think the poor old b*gger would be able to get up once in the bed! :giggle: Especially with the dogs laid on top of him! 😄

If you want to drop into Sudbury, Suffolk (just east of the M11)I'll let you buy me dinner.

There doesn't seem to be an obvious way around.:(
I have not read the link but I would find it very doubtful that the coastal route into Spain via Irun would require snow chains or winter tyres.
As far as I know the requirement is for specified roads in those departments?

That's what I though too.

Good to see you’ve made it to the M25 Tam
Yes but ive now broke down 🤦‍♂️

Its still running but i got a warning light come on about 15 minutes ago and typically i couldn't stop ...now that i have i have a diesel leak and diesel everywhere under the bonnet ... hopefully nothing drastic im waiting on the rescue van coming out ...

Im here

Im hoping its just a burst hose or something and might even be the cause of the starting problems as it really struggled to start after that last stop at services . Breakdown should be here around 7pm

Crap phone signal which is typical

Yes it only applies to the mountainous areas where snow is expected but he has snow chains anyway which satisfies the French regulations

Hope it’s something basic so you can get going again.

Sorry to hear about the problem . I am glad the van is safe and you are ok and not in a dangerous situation. Also there appears to be a pub very close to you 👍🏻

You are making a habit of breaking down on the way to the tunnel.
Hope it's just a fuel pipe & it sorts the starting problem.
Although you are on route if it is a flexible fuel pipe that's gone it would be worth replacing any others as they will all be the same age.

Ok panic over ...fastest breakdown response ever ...well down flux rescue i had my doubts but 15 minutes response is impressive.

So the young lad ( looked 15 )turned up and looked under bonet and said that aint diesel its coolant ( admittedly i hadnt tasted it i just looked and saw liquid all over the diesel filter , battery and the bonnet ) ....had a squeeze of all the hoses and sure enough the bottom radiator hose Clip had not been tightened up .... obviously when the garage dod the cambelt as they removed the radiator 🤦‍♂️

They will be getting a call in the morning as they are really peeing me off between last years broken belt , the clutch on my car and now this ...they wont be getting any work from me again thats for sure.

Anyway the lad refitted the hose tightened the clip and refilled with water ...id fortunately only lost a few litres which is good going considering .

Hopefully thats the only problem.

Took ages to start at the services early so i partly hoped it was diesel and the issue was resolved but hey ho .

Staying here for tonight as its quiet and out the way .

Steak for dinner tonight so just putting that on now
