Tam & co the great winter escape

Hope you have left us some decent winter weather in Perth. We’ll be back in a fortnight :-(

Lovely.
We are having a bit of a road trip there at the moment. The autumn colours on the trees are beautiful in the mountains of West Macedonia but it’s cold. We saw snow on the roadside yesterday, and the outside temp was 6C but that was at around 5000 ft.
If you go to Ioannina, Kastoria or Agrinio I can recommend spots to park where we’ve been recently.

Have a great trip. We're leaving on the Tunnel Tuesday morning but heading in the opposite direction back off to Spain and Portugal. Beech can't wait for sandy beaches and warmth for her arthritis. I'm over this uk weather already!

Well that was the first night sleeping in the van and i can categorically state it was not comfortable and i will have to explore other ways of making a bed up in this ....the dogs dont seem keen on the van either but we might just get used to it as its only for a few months. Back to pouring rain here this morning . Just having a coffee before doggy walks and then ill take the old one to asda for her shopping and hopefully set off after that.

Will have a look in Asda for a carbon monoxide alarm as im a little worried about this van to be honest. I dont want to wake up dead

Have a great and safe trip. Its two years since we last took the MH to foreign climes, so living vicariously through yours and everyone else’s trips keeps me going.

Have a great trip it will be interesting to see where you stop in Croatia as we’ve been here for 8wks and as we’re planning on coming back out next April might be able to pick up a few little gems to stay at

Nothing worse then uncomfortable sleep, I would compromise on other stuff to be able to Chuck in a high quality comfortable mattress 😁

Tam, we've just bought a PVC after having a huge A class and had a bit of a storage problem with the bedding so we disposed of the bolster cushions at the back of the bench seats (they're now in the loft at home) and used the cushion covers to store our bedding. Wondering if this would work for you to store a decent mattress topper.

It wouldn't fit ...the beds probably only 5ft 5 long ...and right behind the front seats .

Ill find a way of making it comfortable somehow

Nice idea but mine are ex caravan cushions and covers aren't removable etc .

To be honest i dont think a topper would sort this problem its just bad design ...cushions are made for a caravan width bed but the van is a lot narrower so the 4 cushions dont fit in the gap so i turned the base ones sideways and put one back along bottom ...but as nothing to stop them moving the 2 large cushions separate and you fall down in between .

Ill have to find a way of jamming in a cushion to stop them moving .
