Tam & co the great winter escape

Re bed cushions - use the spare 'arm' cushions from the sofa and push them behind the cab seats, or the smaller ones from the rear sofa. Also definitely get yourself a topper as it will make a heck of a difference to the comfort.

Have a great & safe travels, looking forward to reading about your adventures.

Stay safe Tam.

Nice idea but mine are ex caravan cushions and covers aren't removable etc .

To be honest i dont think a topper would sort this problem its just bad design ...cushions are made for a caravan width bed but the van is a lot narrower so the 4 cushions dont fit in the gap so i turned the base ones sideways and put one back along bottom ...but as nothing to stop them moving the 2 large cushions separate and you fall down in between .

Ill have to find a way of jamming in a cushion to stop them moving . View attachment 552800
How about two lengths of webbing and a couple of plastic Delrin buckles. I use them for rolling up spare quilts but it might work if you had two long lengths.https://www.google.co.uk/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwj14eSEzPTzAhUK6u0KHTR8CDwYABAKGgJkZw&ae=2&sig=AOD64_3WrhaD1J_S2M_ZuBzfMRnBJdIPYg&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwj7j9-EzPTzAhVGecAKHUv7BdkQ5bgDegQIARBI&adurl=
That was supposed to be a link to Delrin buckles on Amazon , those flat black plastic ones that clip into one another.

Good idea Carolyn but as I read it he has left home.
How about a pair of buckle straps that should do the same thing but not quite so elegant. Halrauds sell such things for loads of money and Tam should be passing one somewhere between home and the tunnel.
Forgot to say enjoy your sunshine holiday.

Sorry to disappoint , torrential rain so far all day, I hope you have fairly new tyres, and a dinghy on the roof, just in case😇😱

That lot won’t make you shorter. Spend your money on a haircut and thinner socks. You’ll need socks in bed in this weather :)

4 flipping pages already lol and ive just left 🤣🤣

Anyway we are parked up for tonight in Alnwick.....ive never been here before surprisingly ...the first spot i picked was roadside with a lovely view of the castle but i think it would have been noisy and id like a decent kip tonight after last night.
So i moved in to the town where theres a quiet little longstay carpark which is better for the dogs so this will do for tonight. Hopefully no boyracers . One other motorhome here but not seen any signs of life. It was bright and sunny earlier from berwick on but back to rain now and the ground is soaking.

Putting the dinner on now as im starving ....that lunch was rubbish.

Oh by the way it was £2.43 😉

When you make up the bed, turn the cushions over so the pattern and shaping is down, when we had a caravan we found that it was flatter and less bumpy and comfier.
Have a great trip👍

Can you not move the seats back to stop the cushions sliding apart and aim your feet in between the seats for extra room. (y)

I will be watching and vicariousy enjoying the sunshine and warmth.

I am taking to a narrowboat on the canals this winter instead. At least it has central heating and a multi fuel stove. And no concerns with weight, or packing to avoid rattles and flying objects, when on the road:)

Would a blow up camping mat help? It might stop you falling down the cracks in the cushions. Easy to store during the day too.

Safe travels. I am looking forward to your impressions of Croatia, I loved it, beautiful scenery and lovely people. Food quite salty though.

Happy travels to you and the dogs.
