Tam & co the great winter escape

Well she's certainly chilled out now . View attachment 565270View attachment 565271

Ive also now got her collar on ....in fact its been off and on 4 times while i adjusted it 🤣🤣 .

Ive a massive pot of tatties and carrots on and pork chops ....im going to spoil all 3 of them tonight with nice tasty dinner .

Seating space has become a little bit harder in here ...she isn't half tall when she spreads out and her head is twice the size of jade's at least .

But im happy as a pig in shit 😁
Nice one I would do exactly the same, in the first photograph she looks as thin as a nail.

We want pictures of her sprawling on your lap 😉 and in time all 3 of them snuggling up together.
What a lovely story in these miserable times :h:

All in good time ....but i really really hope they get like that . ....

Just wondering if this has made Jackie decide on adopting one of the other dogs?
She is more open too it but the other ones here are to big for her van . Bit now she has been with me to the vet and heard how easy it is to get them vaccinated etc she is saying if she sees the right dog

So dinner went well . Ive had to change how we do things around here as normally i give the dogs their dinner same time as me . I need to re stress my place as alpha so i had my dinner first with 3 sets of eyes and watering mouths on me lol....then i dished up theres .

And the rest.....!
P.s i know this post was in jest .. but rescuing a dog is never free .

By the time ive paid for all her injections, blood tests and passport ill be a few hundred Euros lighter . Not to mention ongoing expenses including sterilisation.

But is she worth it ....damm right she is .

She's already showing gratitude ...im getting nuzzled and licked 😁

She may even help me lose weight ....either by eating the left overs i normally ate or just by costing me so much in food ill not be able to feed myself 🤣🤣🤣😘

Ahh Tam, I’m so pleased for you, she is a beautiful dog, love the name and as always really enjoying your thread. I’ve just come back from 5 days in Mersin Turkey and the weather was huge thunderstorms. First one at night woke me up thinking we were being bombed!

Yes i heard turkey was also getting this weather. Im hoping it gets better next week but im considering going to turkey after new year for a couple of weeks to a month and then returning to greece in February ....trying to stay out of Scotland till at least mid march preferably end of march .

I don't think the ferry is running though so may have to drive round

Well I won't say its not needed. :xrofl:

Why am I not surprised.
Still winter there in February. Wouldn't get sod all done to the vario ...and not sure yet if i could go through bulgaria etc that early ..last year i couldn't . So will see how things go .... nowt set in stone .

if the relationship fails there is a bit of profit in there 😏

Yes but they are in sanctuaries not on the streets & not that many in reality. + we like dogs, nothing like refugee's.

Try getting a dog from a rehoming place in the Uk . You wouldn't get one being a pensioner. nor will many who go out to work & leave them. Then you need a decent income; your home has to be inspected etc;etc,

exactly, & completely different from the situation in most european countries.
Thus is so true, my cousin late 60s tried to adopt a pair of best friends from a rehousing centre, so many hoops and she was eventually refused, even though they'd been waiting for 6 months with no offers. She had to buy a couple of puppies. No checks at all, just give em the dosh. A real shame, its probably easier to adopt a child.

Tam, we loved Greece as you know and would love to visit Turkey. Here are the places my interpreter recommended for Turkey.

Cappadocia an area with underground cities, caves and buildings built into valley’s and the landscape.

Olympus

Antalya and Cirali (perfect for vans apparently). I haven’t had a chance to check any of them out yet but Turkey is currently very cheap with lovely food, nuts, figs, dried fruits jams etc. The people I’ve recently met have been very hospitable and kind.

Best months weather wise are mid September to November so that’s us hopefully next year.
