Tam & co the great winter escape

Wow amazing what a difference a few miles makes. Got over 30 here today and no wind. I'm going to bed with an ice pack 😂
We live at the bottom of the Adur valley often referred to as the coldest place in Sussex. Open fields on two sides of us and the beach 200 yds away.
You have met me and you know I'm blond & fair skinned, I burn easily, today only a dolop of sunscreen on my bald spot didn't need it anywhere else.

Bloody freezing here 24.5° in the shade, we were sitting outside in the garden, came back indoors as there was a chilly wind blowing.
Southern softee,,,BUSBY 😄😉😄

She's finding it a bit hot. We've been putting a frozen towel over her throughout the day. Her arthritis is pretty bad these days and she doesn't like to climb the steps to our garden so it's out to the nearest verge every time she needs a pee and walks are only around 20 to 30 mins max on the flat. We even got a special buggy so we can push her to the local woods where she gets out for a potter. View attachment 642977
So no more foreign motorhome adventures for her 😭 not bad going for nearly 13 though.
Poor old girl must be a struggle for her even getting to a verge with your steep drive.
Will you be staying in the UK for a while or will you leave her with your parents?

There are only so many ways you can ’do’ a salad so we had some salad-y bits in a wrap, worked well and I didn’t have to cook!

She gets a run up to get up the drive! We'll not go away this winter. I couldn't leave her for any length of time as I'm sure it's her last hurrah. Though after 2 years away from our home we're happy to stay settled for awhile... though ask me in January and i may have a different answer 😂 Planning a short summer jaunt to France and late summer/Autumn Scotland trip next year instead.

I bought a leg of lamb from Aldi, thinking I could do it low and slow on the Webber but decided it was too hot to sit outside keeping an eye on it (would have drunk too many beers !), so instead, I chunked it up and made a curry in the slow cooker, not too hot, but the lime pickle had me sweating !

A little bit warmer now, gale has dropped to a stiff breeze.
Outside sensor facing north is reading 30°, east facing one 27.5° & one under the Motorhome on the chassis 27.2°.
But with that breeze it doesn't feel that warm, at least in 2½ weeks I'll be in Bangkok should be a bit warmer there.

We've got a nice 34.1° in the shade :hot:
Alright for some, my north facing sensor has got up to 32° but with the wind still doesn't feel that hot.

So you'll lose weight but die due to blocked arteries! 😆
Ok, so I was reading a recipe book last night (yes, I am weird :giggle:) and I came across this paragraph. "Whilst coconut oil is high in saturated fat it is Heart Healthy as it's saturated fat is different from that of animal fat. Coconut oil can lower cholesterol and therefore reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease" Not that I'm obsessed or owt :giggle: (y)

Hotter again today 33 in the shade in the garden 31 in the house. Have had 2 cold showers and several frozen towels for me and Beech. An hour or so ago it went really humid and suddenly started blowing a gale just now so cooling down a bit thank goodness.

It did get a bit warmer this afternoon but didn't feel that warm because of the wind.
The wind finally relented so went down the beach with my daughter & grandkids & paddleboard.
Luckily I'd finished paddling and on the beach when that squall & rain came through.

Not impressed I want some hot weather.
