Tam & co the great winter escape

No damage thankfully, i say broke in but i must have left it unlocked . But theres no obvious sign when this car is unlocked so they must have tried door handles.

Little Sods.

The cash they got lucky as it was in an empty chewing gum tub but they had to go in just for the chewing gum .

There was sunglasses, phone charger,. A super dry baseball cap and a regatta jacket on the seat yet not touched.

Idiots
Tam, be careful, they will probably coming back for another go, as they are lazy barstawerds.

Already worked out if you order the Auto box it comes on the Maxi, just need to uprate it.
Are you sure you don’t want to go big this time, proper truck chassis? Nicer views up high, better brakes, retarder, convertible in the back, you only live once lol😆😆😆😎

Ours is on the light chassis with auto box so best to double check when you're let loose with the credit card otherwise you will not be a happy bunny!

Recieved my new fridge freezer last night so set about fitting it in this morning.

Im a bit confused and miffed at the seller though as this was clearly advertised as being an A+ energy rating while in actual fact it states f on the label . And it uses more than double per annum in kWh than the inventor fridge i removed uses. How much difference that will make on my inverter/ batteries etc i don't know yet .

It also is apparently smaller overall yet i can fit everything that was in the bigger fridge in it with no probs and its a much bigger freezer so thats more practical for me. The freezer is about the same size as i had in the hymer.

Oh dear, that's around 47 ah per 24 hours probably more in the summer & less in the winter.
Your old one was around 18 ah per 24 hours, I expect it's the big freezer that is the problem, you don't get ought for naught as they say.

What's Dave's Wissel one like for power consumption?

From March 1,2021 the most popular models of fridge-freezers will be E- and F-rated. Formerly known as A++ and A+, they are highly efficient, using 40% less energy than the average appliance in homes a decade ago and estimated to cost just £41 or less a year to run.

The A+ sticker refers to a different product entirely

Where did you see that sticker - on the advert or on the fridge delivered?
This is the product sheet for the cookology fridge where it says A+ it also says A+ on the ebay listing.

But the sticker on the fridge says F

The ratings apparently changed last march 21 bit then the inventor fridge i removed was new in December 21 🤷‍♂️

Either way going by the usage on both stickers the inventor uses 80kwh but the cookology uses 207kwh

Dave had the same inventor fridge as i had fitted. But he has a freezer in his unit he uses so can manage with just the small freezer in the van.

I will see if i notice much difference on my battery monitors in the morning im normally down from 400ah to around 365/370 in the morning currently so ill see if im below that.

I accidentally left my water heater on the other noght and i was at 260ah in the morning but back up to 400ah by 3.30pm next day ..so when sunny i have no worries about power . A few rainy days and it can affect it but then i have the b2b to fall back on .

Will find out how well it all copes come winter time. Doesn't matter how much solar you have if no sun it seems.

That seems to be the best plan, see what it uses in the real world, not a test laboratory
Of course, in cooler weather, it won't be working as hard.

Yeah i have it set at 2 at the minute and its ice cold so hopefully it wont be too bad.

As others have said, the ratings on a lot of appliances have changed.

The Inventor fridge is really efficient. I have one in my current van, but no freezer (just a keep things fairly frozen box, it isn't capable of freezing anything).

Your new one is quite popular in vans after Amber fitted one. I've fitted one myself and it works well, but does use a lot more power than your old one. With the inverter overhead, I'd say 50Ah per 24 hours.

Having said that, with all the solar you have, does it really matter?

In the Vario I'm fitting one that uses around 60Ah per 24 hours. But also 460Ah of LiFePO4 and 1.2Kw of solar, so I expect I won't notice it. In the Winter when there's no solar, I'll need EHU anyway. Expecting just over 10 months of the year solar sufficient in the UK.

Might be worth swapping to a LiFePO4 at some point Tam?

Thinking about it, I fitted a fridge like yours in the Sprinter build. Admittedly that van had 460Ah of LiFePO4 and 885w of solar, but he has been full everyday by 9am.

Yeah im hoping it shouldn't be an issue

...and if it is, then there will be solutions.
Yeah i mean im hoping to be escaping the winter anyway . And as i dont normally stay in one place for more than a few days it should be fine. I wtill pull in a bit of solar when cloudy its only really when its dark and heavy rain that i get nowt. But usually still enough to run the fridge etc just not much input to batteries.
