Tam & co the great winter escape

Nice field of friendly donkeys right near by ...ive petted all 10 of them 😁....i want a donkey!!!
Yes I wanted one years ago & an acquaintance had a foal for sale. But then I looked at it logically,& the fact that they live 35-40+ years & as I was over 50 then I thought of what the situation would be when I died & left it¿ So better off not having one. Any way how would you get a donkey in the van? Milo & Jade might not be happy.

Trying to find out at present about my mobile phone usage for Montenegro and albania ....clear as mud
Do they have mobile phones in Albania?

Korcular an amazing mediaeval walled city. Don’t know how accessible it is by road but you may find people there are really nice, it’s twinned with the Isle of Rothesay. 😃

just for clarity , Rothesay is a town on the island of Bute 👍

Ok so it looks like you guys are going to miss me for a few days as my mobile plan doesn't cover me for Montenegro or Albania. I can put an add on for data at £6.27 per day but that only gives me 150mb of data and thats very little ... there's no other options from my network. Ill probably only be in Montenegro a couple of days and likely another few days in Albania . But i won't be able to upload photos to here or my polarsteps with that amount of data im afraid. But if i can i will bookmark the locations and upload the photos etc later when i enter greece.

Not easy this travelling malarkey is it.

Won't be in either country long enough to justify buying a local sim or anything so thats out the question. Ive not checked my giffgaff jargon yet for my tablet but certainly thats how it is with ee on my phone

Good luck see you on the other side. We're opposite to you. Just got on a campsite with free WiFi so going to be rinsing the data and it's raining tomorrow so will probably be on here loads 😂

It will be like waiting for the Apollo space craft to come from behind the moon...:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

As I said I don't think much of Croatia but he has gone straight by the best bits.
If he goes inland all the bullet ridden buildings will really depress him.

Bit like Glasgow?

I googled him and came up with this story.

I watched that animated video, didn't make much sense to me and no translation on the website - we need a Croat speaker :ROFLMAO:
If you open the page in Chrome, you can use Google translate. :)

Well he died along with another man (Goran) defending that bridge at Bistrina under mortar fire.

"The Bistrina Bridge is my heaviest mental wound and I still carry it in my soul today. That bridge was the most important point on the entire Southern Battlefield. If that bridge had fallen, Neum and a good part of Herzegovina would have fallen. That bridge was held by orders by us saboteurs, eight of us. We only had infantry weapons and two rockets for the Osu hand grenade launcher. We later saw that they were faulty. I came to that bridge wounded with 30 stitches on my leg from the consequences of the last wound. I was driven by love and friendship towards my unit and my saboteurs Goran Kliškić, Ivica Vuca, Boran Martić, Bošković Ivica, Raul Breznik, Petar Vrbatović, Ćiro Ugrin, Tomislav Baždarić, Lijak Marinko and others. A lot of them from other brigades did not want to go to that bridge, and our commander was a colonelGoran Kliškić never refused the order, even when it was ordered that we saboteurs go to the bridge. The bridge was shelled all day and night with all weapons and planes. They threw everything they had at us. But they failed to drive us out and occupy the bridge. I must emphasize how the bridge at that time meant life and survival. We saved him in spite of all adversity.
I escaped from the hospital with 30 stitches on my leg. I even ended up in the hospital in Metković the night before. There a grenade fell near me and wounded me. I spent the night in the hospital in Metković and escaped the next day with a "caddy" who was bringing food near the bridge. I hid in it and ate a Viennese steak in it along the way. When I arrived I was attacked by comrades for running away from the hospital and I was laughing. I was glad to be with them with my brothers. That night, after my arrival on the bridge, a sudden fierce artillery attack started. I was alone in the main bunker near the bridge itself. Grenades were falling very close and Goran Kliškić was the first to enter my bunker. He heard that Vuco moaned and flew out immediately to see what had happened. He shouted near the bunker that Vuco had been hit. I jumped out of the bunker and we both yelled like crazy. Vuco had a nasty wound on his head. Goran took him by the legs, I by his arms, and the grenades fell dangerously. Then one fell right next to Goran. I saw a flash and it threw me a few feet away. As if through a fog, I heard and saw Goran falling and screaming. Both were severely wounded. I crawled up to them. It was dark, grenades were falling, I was yelling, but no one could hear me. They both lay motionless. I shook them both, but they showed no sign of life. With great difficulty I crawled up to my Boran Martić and Ivo Bošković and told them that they had died. Later, Boran Martic told me that Goran Kliskic had been showing signs of life for some time. Raul Breznik took me to another bunker and wrapped me up. I was hit by shrapnel in a few places on my chest and arms and legs.
