Tam & co the great winter escape

Now that's impossible, disgusting stuff why would anyone want to eat something that makes your lips swell & gives you a sore tounge.
You don't know what's good for you,,🙂😉😗 BUSBY.

Tam ... apparently you've still got a Hymer 654..... :giggle:

Tonights cullinary delights.

Breast of chicken with peppers, onion, garlic and spring onions , fried in a little olive oil with a little salt and black pepper and added to the last of the salad ....

Was very tasty

I thought the ducato 244 models were supposed to be fairly easy to do compared to the 250's

But yeah id prefer a good heavy duty clutch as it is a heavy van . Ive phoned around a few places enquiring but will have to see what they say.

Im also needing the cambelt done but im going to have similar issues i think .

So if anyone on here around can recommend any garages theyve had work done on a bigger vehicle that would be handy as i might not get any of the ones ive tried so far. Some are really busy.

The price of £722 is done here on the drive but not sure what brand of clutch it is
Tam you could try Drum Garage in Dalgety Bay they did my Transit Autosleeper motorhome cambelt and Mot.
They also maintain lorries so have large ramps and plenty of headroom.

Thats the cowboys that had the vario for 4 weeks and did nowt to it till last day then made a botch of the rear sills

Wouldn't trust them to top up my windscreen bottle im afraid

Guessing a 2.8 transverse engine is quite a tight fit??

Has anyone heard of or used these guys ?

They quoted me £722 for clutch kit replacement here on the driveway.
I checked and to also do the cambelt kit the total is £1105 which isnt too bad.

My worry is they ask for your card details etc when you book the job , it says they don't take a penny till the job is complete etc and it has all the trustpilot logos etc om the site. Im just wary of giving my card details etc before even speaking to the mechanic

Can some have a look at the site and see what they think

Those reviews are worthless , start a specific thread on here and get people on here to recommend, better drive a bit further and get the best possible service👍

I don't trust these sites. Don't most onsite operating businesses carry card machines now so you can pay them when they have done the job?

If you can’t find anywhere local for both clutch and cambelt it might be as well to get a good commercial garage that someone on here recommends, even if it is far away.
You could stay overnight or a couple of nights somewhere and at least know you are getting a good job from a recommended garage.
Worth the trip for a good job.

I can recommend somewhere but County Durham.

Yep but no one has recommended anywhere yet.

Don't want anywhere too far as i think the clutch is on its last legs . It was slipping on the way home today

I’ve used Fiat Professional in the past, they all have large premises. Might be worth a try.

Could be wrong but seem to remember that some Local Council garages can do MOT's on larger vehicles and might also do repairs or know where to get work done. May be worth an ask.

Don’t know if they still do servicing but have used the below company for maintenance on our Sunseeker RV a couple of times in the past, they used to be an RV dealer as well.
Dont know where you actually are based but worth a try.

Weird isn’t it, when I reached68 I suddenly liked Marmite 😂😂
Food of the Gods (unlike olives! or pickles of any description )

You should try Marmite XO - "Xtra Old" - it's billed as a stronger version of Marmite but I find it's a smoother taste and less salty. I thought normal Marmite was heavenly until I discovered XO. Can be hard to find though, Sainsburys is the best bet.

Now pickled chillies, yum, yum.

Tam, I use Inchmichael Garage on the A90 half-way between Perth and Dundee. Near Perthshire Caravans so I think they get a lot of motorhome work. Probably not cheap, but I’ve been happy with work done there.

One of our grand daughters makes marmite butter, she blends marmite with a flora type spread and makes jars of the stuff.
So it's mild marmite for your toast.

I’ve also had paintwork done at Armits, Broxburn both for the motorhome and my plane! Steven Armit is a nice guy. They're always busy.

Hopefully ive found a garage to do the clutch and cambelt work on the van.

They've given me an estimate at £850 for everything.

They came recommended from another fulltimer on Facebook.

They are closed now till monday but ill phone then and see if they can do both in one day or if not 2 consecutive days and hopefully i could just stay in it in their yard.

Will see what they say
