Tam & co the great winter escape

I have a Vodafone curve tracker that is currently on offer at £18 up front and £2.99 a month cancel any time.
Had mine about 18 months and used it on a number of things including my boys works can.
It has a clip for securing to a dogs collar.

The app is quite good with 3 levels of recording including real-time for emergencies. Battery life per charge depends on the setting you activate.
The only draw vacm is its charged via USB.
Don't know how that compares with others.
Have you a link to that?

Panic over ..with the help of a few locals we have her .

Once again she's acting like she doesn't know me ☹️ . No joke its like she has a split personality disorder. But ive got her back to the van and they've all conked out .

Im needing a shower as ive been running about daft.

Im buying a tracker for her
Ohhhh, my heart!

Perfect ...that seems a good deal
I paid £25 up front 18 months ago and £2.25 a month on a 2year contract.

So this is a good deal, and cancel any time.

I keep an eye on Tam's posts and have to say, having managed to get 4 kids to adulthood and having now retired, I am glad I don't have to worry about another living being that is reliant on me. (In saying that, the parents are returning to 'kid' status.)
Tam, I take my hat off to you. Rather you than me bud!

I have used it on the van, ( although it has a proper tracker), my rucksack,
Grand kids back packs and once on our dog ( who left us nearly 3 months ago now).
It spends most of its time plugged into a USB on permanent charge in hiding in my boys own work van.

In other news im impressed how good a signal i get on this tv ariel i bought on eBay. I was sceptical but its picked up 107 tv channels and 25 radio channeks

£8 on eBay

i have a very similar one that came with a hauppauge USB tv tuner. That aerial has a magnetic base so i stick on the van roof if the reception inside is not enough. They do seem to be very good at grabbing TV channels

Just make sure you you get the habit of clip it on the collar each time you go walkies.
It would be a bummer if it was left in the van and she went walk about again.
Aye thats the thing lol. Ill probably not let her off again now for ages as everytime i do she breaks my trust

My EMI - in her younger days - would go off hunting. I would carry on with our walk alone but regularly whistle so she would know where I was. Often my heart would be in my mouth but, eventually she would return.

Isn't so true that trust takes ages to build and a second to lose.

To quote the Stereophonics...
It takes 1 tree to make a 100 matches, but only takes 1 match to burn a 1000 trees,

So about the crap quote but it seemed Apt when I typed it 🙄🤣

Tam a tracker sounds a brilliant idea for both you and Ela. It will definitely give you (and us) peace of mind. Having a dog go missing and not knowing what has become of them is horrendous and soul destroying.
Ela has had such an insecure start to her life there is no telling what miniscule scent, sight or sound could suddenly trigger what appears to us to be totally irrational behaviour.
All you can do is be even more patient, a dog that has grown up in a happy stable home can take months to settle if it has the misfortune of needing rehomed through no fault of it's own. Who amongst us can begin to understand what goes on in Ela's mind?

Tam, have you got a long line for Ela? I bought a 20m lunge line for Yoshi for peace of mind. I do t always hold on to it but it gives me something to grab if his recall fails!
