Yeah there's a few of the Watling ones available around south england . Id just like to get this model with the frame round it if i can and this one in newbury is £100 complete with light board etc .

Louie25 can bring it north for me on 17th but newbury is a little out there way coming from the tunnel north.
I figured if i could get it from newbury over to Canterbury area it would make life easier. But the seller has no way to transport it sadly.

As well as a highly entertaining winter trip around Ireland the waw , Spain and Portugal im off course willing to chuck in a few sheckles to whoever can assist with rack acquisition 😁

I would have done Bridgwater for you but am away in Greece & Turkey until end of June. After that let me know, for down this way.

Sadly no luck finding someone near newbury ☹️

This rack is the best buy out them all , best build and best price but typically not the best location .

Trying to get a price from a courier company i knew from work.
It’s said before , shiply does work for things like this, you will get a reasonable quote🤷🏻‍♂️

Ive now had 9 quotes lowest is £240

When it gets to about £40-50 we might get somewhere otherwise ill bin that idea

So far shipley have quoted £261 and £326 to deliver a £100 rack

Have a guess what that answer will be 😁
Hmmm, you just need some luck to find someone who has a few from say London towards you, a while ago I bought a new bike, I paid 35 pounds for a 200 mile journey, bargain I thought👍

Shipley is at £91 now

You never know by tomorrow they might be nearer the mark.

Might have been an odd time of night to post the details.

Will see

Thought I saw a thread about a meet @ Newbury soon ????
🍻

I now have 2 other racks that are possibilities. Theres one the same style as i put up the other day in newbury and theres one in Canterbury.

Would there be anyone in those areas that could collect it and store it for a week or so? Louie25 has kindly offered to transport one up for me on their return from France on 17th

Id prefer the one from newbury but the one in Canterbury is good too
That would be great. Can i get back to you though as i would prefer the one from newbury as its better built and has the support bar that goes over the seat. The one in Canterbury doesn't unfortunately so its a second choice.

Whilst I’ve not been following your related threads/posts, I’m not far from Newbury so may be able to help if still required?

Hi thanks i now have a couple of options so hopefully i can still secure this.

Shipley have now given a quote of £63 so if after confirming everything with them that still stands ill just get them to collect and deliver it. The seller is going to put it all in to a bundle today so its easier to transport.

If that doesn't work out ill keep folk posted.

You may find that the shipper will not collect unless it all parcelled up covered in cardboard.
I tried to send a motorcycle lift to Scotland once and they refused the first collection because not packed securely. It was secure but exposed metalwork. Apparently would have been ok if secured to a pallet exposed.
Might be worth checking

I sent an Iveco diff to get repaired, cable tied it (heavy duty ones) to a scaffold plank that I'd nailed a couple of blocks underneath so it could be moved with a pallet truck, then wrapped it in cling film and they were happy enough with that ?

So the courier is now booked for collecting friday and delivery next monday . Cost £67 all in and the rack is £100 , could have possibly haggled the rack down a bit but the guy has been a gem so i didn't.

So this is the one I've bought .

It looks a mess because he scraped off all the cracked plastic coating intending to powder coat it but then sold his motorhome and left it lying outside.

But its just surface rust and will clean off okay with a wire brush on the drill . It suits me as they usually look like this

But i don't really want it in white , ill paint it grey to match my van bumpers etc

This is only 30kg so if he ties it all together its just a case of lifting it on the van and if need be he can assist there and ill assist here

You've got a thing for rusty things that need rescuing haven't you Tam! 😄

Not really . But the one on ebay went for £230 and i couldn't get it collected.

So this one works out cheaper and it just needs a coat of paint on it and it will be good as new. The plastic coating on them always gets damaged.

I dunna believe you! :giggle: I know at some point your new MH is gonna end up with a camouflage/grunge look.

Powder coating is sh*t on anything vehicle related only need a stone chip water gets in and it starts flaking off.

The powder-coating all over the walls and roof of my 2003 N&B Arto looks fine.

I used to work as a powder coater so i know how fragile it is . I prefer to use spray paint with plenty primer under it. Its also easier to repair if it gets chipped etc

Well this is probably the best im going to get the rear of the motorhome looking without painting the bumpers. Im undecided if i want to tackle that myself or perhaps get them done in Portugal again over winter....as the front also needs done aswell as the front arches.

But the rest looks not to bad ... Stickers not ideal but one of the bike brackets holes were right in the centre of the rear graphic. If i took the graphic off it would have left a mark as the back panel is quite deteriorated.

Once a scooter is on there anyway you won't see much of it .
