Had an 810 for a few years ago (hence username eurajohn) how about this one, single beds, one for you and one for the dogs, got a bit of damage and high kilometres (or 114k miles) but cheap for year and what it is. Broken Link Removed

Speak for yourselfAlthough your mum is not a lot older than a lot of us on here
Up what way ?That’s my mates car! How random is that!
piy I’m in France, you could’ve stopped in for a cup of tea when you were up that way![]()
Would that be because of the electricsI think you have made the right decision with Vario,
You're just sighing relief over the vario electricsI think you have made the right decision with Vario, I loved watching your build but being realistic I doubt if you would have finished it this year.
I've often fancied a self build also when young fancied a kit car but I knew I would never finish either.
I hope it all works out with Ela she looks a peace with you. Although your mum is not a lot older than a lot of us on here we are a different breed most of us fairly active and adventurous. When stuck at home elderly people get stuck in there ways and anything out of their routine really upsets them I remember the hassle I had with my mum.
That Euromobile sounds ideal for you.
Good luck Tam.
Yes the weather is a big part of why it takes so long. And working on my own isn't always easy either. And no one around to help out most of the timeWould that be because of the electrics
We did a kit car in a tent in the back garden but I think foing a self build like the Vario outside is another thing, good choice to call it a day with it.
Unfortunately the cost of importing takes away the saving. That said im not keen on the interior layout in that one.Had an 810 for a few years ago (hence username eurajohn) how about this one, single beds, one for you and one for the dogs, got a bit of damage and high kilometres (or 114k miles) but cheap for year and what it is. Tam, I used to do Inverness to Bury regularly in my old Merc horsebox, 14 hours door to door.Tbe only home comfort was a portapotty and a collie dog to snuggle up to at night.Nothing is far for the right motorhome lol, but then I used to drive for up to 10 /12 hours a day, but the train is very comfortable too lol, cheap premier inn and sorted![]()
Aye but the dogs might not be so keen in the car. Down and back in one dayTam, I used to do Inverness to Bury regularly in my old Merc horsebox, 14 hours door to door.Tbe only home comfort was a portapotty and a collie dog to snuggle up to at night.
I was probably older than you at tbe time, don't be a wimp you could pop down tbere no trouble.
Aye everything is always down south ..bar one van in GlasgowI suspect a lot of potential vehicles could be located a long way from the back of beyond (aka Scotland).
I for one would be happy to offer a bed or a parking space if it would help.
Peterborough is East Coast Mainline... Happy to pick up & ferry about locally if it's helpful.
Is there a doggy daycare near you? Lots of dog walkers around here who would entertain the dogs all day if they get payed, they really love dogs and the dogs love themAye but the dogs might not be so keen in the car. Down and back in one day
But i won't have any choice. Just waiting to see the other photos first then ill decide whether to go down or not
It's an offer, if not for this van.Aye everything is always down south ..bar one van in Glasgow
That's a very nice offer ..... I guess if i left early morning i could do bury and back in the one day .. dogs would just sleep most of the trip
My mum would probably watch jade and milo no problem and i would just take ela with me .she sleeps when im driving so she would be fine.Is there a doggy daycare near you? urrmm, me tooSpeak for yourself![]()
Yes that's right. It needs a couple of little jobs done but it will do me for now. Its cheap to ti run and insure which is good for work. When i get time ill give it a proper valet and it should look quite smartLove your car Tam, did I read it right you only paid a grand for it ?
128000 so not too bad for 12 years old. That’s cheap for the car, it must be high miles for that price surely?
CrieffUp what way ?
That must have been the previous owner. I bought it from a guy in bathgate. He did say he only had it from January though , said he bought it from a policeman. The mot is done in crief though so that's probably right.Crieff
I love it when a plan comes together. Things seem to be settling down a bit, some decisions made easing all that stress.Ive found a storage facility just a mile from home too for a 6ft x 8ft unit £10 per week for the first 8 weeks and a free van to move it so thats a good possibility for storing all the stuff out the vario till i get a new van ..i plan to just sell the stuff i no longer need as no point keeping it.
Must agree with her though, it does seem a shame after all that hassle and work to get rid of it.Mothers!!!!
Told mum this morning that id sold the vario and it would be going within the next 2 weeks. I expected her to say oh thats good.
Instead i got " so all that time and disruption last year was for nothing'
Ye just cannae win lol.
Then i said "i was thinking of buying a small trailer to put all my stuff in just now "
There's one on gumtree for £50 nearby
She says "well thats a good idea why don't you "
I said " because theres nowhere to put it "its like steptoes yard oot here.
If i could i would but i think i might just be better booking a storage unit for a month from next weekend once ive sorted through it all. The welding plant etc i will sell on so i shouldn't actually have to much to store. If i don't have a van by the end of that month then a small trailer will fit in the drive once the vario has left.
Thats the plan.
