Yes turkey georgia and Azerbaijan are on the cards for once the vario is built ...so o can do a 9 month tripTurkey is even better, open quiet roads, wild camping all the way, beautiful lakes and beaches etc, but that opens up a whole new can of worms, some do, many dont take the risk with insurance, I wouldn't hesitate if I had a "one off" van like Tams, and of course the time & wedge to do it.
(90 days 3rd party insurance for 30 EU) purchased at border with all the necessary paperwork, as seen on a Vloggers post last week.
But I do know that Tam is not going on this trip due to time constraints, bet he will next time out though.

Had a google with that & 1 suggestion was crankshaft sensor.n/s/f of engine, under the oil filter.but when cranking it the red injector light flashes when its trying to start.
Of course, we all do IF! He chooses to go there.IF! I have every confidence that Tam and the van with a bit of persuasion will make it
No i decided to have that tomorrowHope it’s not chicken curry lol
Many years since I've seen one. I had one in the early 70s. The protruding grille shows it was diesel rather than petrol. Mine had the Perkins 4/108, and I would get 40 mpg. Did smoke a bit labouring up steep hills though!
Pick it up on the way back Tam...It was definitely a petrol ....engine was still in it ...it didnt look to bad condition overall , it could easily be saved
Yes that was my first thought with it and what the previous owner had said , ill get it looked at somewhere most likely greece when i can find a small not busy garage ...i find those are often the best for old school mechanics.Hi Tam hope all is well fella. just to throw my two penneth in regards your starting issue, i had the same problem with my Renault. It just would not start until you had nearly flattened the battery. Harder to start when cold but still trouble even when it had been running ! I took it to the garage and they found a small air leak in the fuel pipe under the bonnet which was causing air to get in the fuel line. When it was running it was ok but when you stopped the fuel ran back because of the air leak which made it difficult to start again. Hope you get to the bottom of it as I know from experience its not just annoying it can be a bit embarrassing, thats why i used to wait for people to clear off before i attempted a start
Take care fella
