It will be back to van building, much more interesting. What am I going to read over my morning cup of tea in bed now that your travels have come to an end? Helen Ariel is also on the final stretch of a wonderful trip with Beech.
You should all get together. You all appreciate long walks and crumbling old buildings. What stories you could share while the dogs sniff each other!
Shes in Italy at the minuteWelcone home Tam. We've loved your posts and pictures of exotic places....and the dogs of course.
Whats Jackie doing now?

To me your experience with you bringing your dogs back to the U.K is alarming!Well im at calais and im going on the 13.15 boat ... Totally different from the tunnel , they never checked dogs passports or chips ,just gave me a pet sticker to stick on windscreen and that was that , straight through both passport controls and right in to the lane. About to board now. So i will get a fair bit towards home today.
No idea , i normally use the tunnel where you have to go in to pet control etc and i expected the same at ferry terminal but nope the woman just asked for my booking reference, passport and then said you are booked for 6pm ...i was there at 12.32pm , i said yes , she said when were your dog's treated , i said 8am yesterday, she said ok thank you and handed me my boarding pass thing and a pet sticker for the window. She didn't even tell me she'd put me on an earlier boat ...i only realised when i drove round the corner and a guy guided me to the lanes. Then when i looked at the board pass it was the 13.15 boatTo me your experience with you bringing your dogs back to the U.K is alarming!
To explain why:- we introduced the pet passport scheme to enable us to take our dogs to Europe, before that they had to go into quarantine for 6 months.
The reson why we had quarantine is we are free of rabies, which if introduced would run through the wildlife.
The dogs were rabies jabbed and then blood tested before you got you passport.
On the way out no checks, through boarders no checks.
On return checks as we are rabies free and Europe is not.
so My alarm as we are rabies free, is why we’re you not checked?
Don't be silly he's a ScotNothing wrong with a pub stop, go on treat yourself to a couple of beers and a proper meal to end the trip.![]()
He's telling porkies I've sunk a few pints with him.I don't drink
The thing is we are trying to keep rabies out of the U.K from Europe, not the other way around, think foot and mouth on the wildlife! No check on gas bottles etc either.
I might just use the ferry in future , its cheaper and less hassle. Dogs are cheaper too , 22 quid each on the tunnel but only 15 on ferry
I remember when I was a child, my teacher telling me that rabies would be a real problem in this country in the future, due to the rats and mice coming in along the tunnelThe thing is we are trying to keep rabies out of the U.K from Europe, not the other way around, think foot and mouth on the wildlife!
Thats why I was Alarmed at your experience.
On the way out did you get checked on your dog passport?
