Beautiful sunny morning here today in Rupea , bloody cold wind though but its better than the 6 days of snow and rain that was forecast for around brasov

Just having a coffee then we are off to explore another castle . We stayed here last night

Actually this one is technically a fortress or citadel 16th century but its undergone substantial restoration in the last 30 years . But it looks quite good

Had it not been so windy I'd have put the drone up to get some Ariel shots of this but its gusty and im not wanting to take the chance.

Had it not been so windy I'd have put the drone up to get some Ariel shots of this but its gusty and im not wanting to take the chance.

Too much hard work. When i normally upload i just start from the first on my phone. The resizing app mixes them all up ...trying to scroll through 46 thumbnails and selecting them in order is not easy

You only upload a few of the 46 so only resize the ones you are going to upload that's what I do.
Anyway what else have you got to do apart from keeping us on here happy.

In Ro at school in year 7, Latin in in the curriculum, before romanian can be taken further to higher education. Latin is the root of Romanian language.

Well from what i can gather Romania formerly Dacia was another place run by those pesky romans so that would make sense to a degree

Been a busy day today went to see a castle ...it was closed so no access ...had to use airspace then went to see a fortified church it was also closed aan nd another fortified church and guess what ...yep closed aswell . Just aswell ive a drone . Pics coming soon when ive made a cuppa .

So our lunch stop today was in the wee village of cris , we originally went to see bethan castle which comes up in a Google search of castles in Romania .... unfortunately it was closed for renovation. Bloody typical . But i managed to put the drone up and get some pics of the castle and village. ....and the last 2 are the road out of the village ...if you could call it a road. ...ive lost 2 fillings.

Great pictures well done, I just found out from Sky they are going to charge £2 per day for roaming after 2nd May I dont know you use , stay safe and enjoy the rest of your trip

Theres like 150 fortified churches in Romania ... this was one i just spotted as i was driving past in saros .... massive gypsy settlement behind it of makeshift shacks and tents which i didn't want to take pics of as it didn't seem right . But it reminded me of African shanty towns lots of kids running about in what could only be described as rags ....lots of really scruffy dogs etc .....theres a lot of poverty in this country tucked around the back out of sight.

So i just took the picture of the church from the roadside and moved on.

Then it was on to the village of biertan. This village has the number 1 rated fortified church in Romania. Once again its closed at present ..march to october its open. The village is dead and its where im staying tonight. The further out you go from the centre the poorer it gets , some of it you might spot if you zoom in on photos. But its an interesting village. I think these villages are great as they give a true impression of life here , they arent tourist hotspots, they aren't full of outsiders coming in buying up property etc ... there's people here from all classes these are the pics from the ground first . Ill upload the drone ones in a bit
