I think I would head out of Romania asap, there are reports of long queues at many east/west European borders. if that means coming home early so be it

Not saying it's not safe but if the borders get clogged maybe just give yourself a bit of extra time...i think if you were a couple of days over your Schengen that would be a pretty good excuse? Just keep an eye on things not saying you need panic

I don't have a time limit how long i can be in Romania but i do on how long i can be in shengen . My ferry is booked for 22nd march and ive only 14 days left in shengen.

That laundrette / dog rescue place i visited in greece just before i adopted ela ...filia laundry . I just heard the guy i spent the few hours talking to ...patrick ..

He killed himself 2 weeks ago ...i can't believe it , he seemed such a chilled out happy guy , he was doing something good , living what seemed like a great life

Mental health, a much hidden condition .
A Neighbour of ours suffered from this condition, he told us that one night he had a rope and a location.
His young daughter woke up and it made him realise what he had.
He Explained to us, break a bone, have a visible injury, you get understanding/sympathy.
Have a mental injury/condition and people shy away.
Never be afraid to ask for help.

Very sad Tam, we had a really good friend that took his own life, up until the evening he did it we didn't have a clue, but after thinking about it there was a few things that was out of the ordinary, but I feel he had made his mind up, and although he said he didn't fancy the pub see you tomorrow he knew he wouldn't.

We later found out he phoned all his friends and family for a chat that day, and why he did it, so he had plenty of time to change his mind. Bob

He wasn't really a friend as such i only met him the once , but i thought he was a nice guy , he seemed to love what he was doing , he'd only started that place a year ago after being stuck in Greece during the first covid lockdown .he was also a fulltime vanlifer , i never met his girlfriend but she too was a vanlifer ...they met on the road in greece in 2019 , still lived in separate vans. After meeting him that day and spending over 2 hours chatting while doing my laundry i admired him for what he was trying to do . Ive been following the filia laundry page on Instagram and i did notice something being put up a couple of weeks back saying closed due to bereavement ....but i never knew it was him till i saw this post today

And of course i had posted asking where patrick had gone thinking they had seperated. Thats when she said he had killed himself 2 weeks ago . Its a shock to be honest. I messaged jackie to tell her about it too as she was there when we met him.


Incidentally she's on a plane now on her way back to Greece.

That's so sad. When we went back to Orbitur in Sagres this year we found out our long term neighbour on the campsite from the previous winter had hung himself in the campsite a few months after we left. We were so shocked. He was a lovely, older Welsh man who we would chat to everyday and although he didn't join in with some of our social invites we just thought he liked to keep to himself. So important to talk openly about mental health and not soldier on alone.
