That's bizarre... I'd be tempted to uninstall & re-install the app then scan the QR Code again
It just transcribes to a number 7117482212111
Is there anywhere on the app you can enter that?

Edited Northernraider
Just downloaded the app & dug around... how about starting here;

They supposedly speak English, and maybe able to help or point you in the right direction.
I tried to delete the test from app the other day thinking I would scan it again and it comes up with a warning saying the qr code can only be used once ..

I saw that phone number but thought it was only for technical help with the app.

I suppose I could try it

I must admit that originally I thought keep your head down & plough on - you virtually observe quarantine anyway... but then you went to the bother of having a test & hanging about for four days, my OCD would be wanting to know the result.
Technically, you're having a technical problem with the app - it won't give you your result.
Anyway, I think that number is to get a TAN number which you enter [10 digit] if for some reason the QR Code doesn't work.

Part of me though is curious just how long the app is going to take to tell me I'm negative ....it's now been 6 days since test was done.

So when you get the result in two weeks will you have to then quarantine for 14 days...🤣

Even more worrying would be if it was positive and you had been wandering around. If it was the same for everyone it’s no wonder the virus ain’t going away.

Although im at least a week ( possibly 10 days ) away from entering Austria I'm getting increasingly nervous about it.
I've been googling regarding the till system and the go box for vehicles over 3.5tonne. it seems an absolute headache ...I've seen umpteen posts online from people having difficulty getting the boxes and then others saying the minimum payment on it is €100 even if you don't intend to use toll roads ...and then a hassle finding somewhere when exiting Austria to get a refund on the box etc ....can folk that have done Austria and Slovenia ( similar system and aggro apparently ) shed light on this please.
I'd like to see a bit of Austria maybe spend a week there but I don't want to use motorways I want to see the mountains and the villages etc ...but reluctant to throw €100 down the toilet.

Yep but whilst I can't obviously state I definitely am not positive as there are people asymptomatic etc ...I have no reason to think I am ...I've zero symptoms and have not been in close contact with anyone in the last 14 days ....it's 14 days today since I left home and until I entered Germany everywhere I've been was deserted. Going by the info I read before taking the test it stated 2 or 3 days for results and those testing positive would be prioritized. 6 days later and I've heard nothing 🤷🏻‍♂️

I know one or two on here have been railroaded/detoured onto motorways, so the next time I go (it will be the first time OVER 3500kg) I have picked a route through that can’t put me on motorways (DONT forget expressways either tam, I think they’re the “S“ roads which are also tolled)👍
Sorry tam, I’m talking Austria👍🙄

We travelled through Austria avoiding tolls. Took the 182 road . Runs through Innsbruck . Admittedly didn’t see much but we just wanted to get through on our way to Croatia. We have since downsized to under 3500 kg so will hopefully take a different next time

Where is your route entering and leaving ?

I'm planning to be entering after fussen and entering around podkoren in North West Slovenia.....although I'm undecided whether to enter Italy and do Venice before going in to Slovenia

haganap take on Austria Go Box:
"if you are over 3.5t you need a go box.
When i got mine they asked where I was going and told me how much this would cost. They told me to watch for the beeps and what they meant.
They gave me instructions that also re-enforced the message. I'm real thick but understood it.

Also you do not have to return your go box as stated above. You pay for it and you keep it, mines still on the windscreen, it looks cool."

On this thread https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/austrian-go-box-fines-help.220255/

So what I'm reading is:
That you'll need a Go Box - even if you've no intention of using tolls
If you have a Go Box, then you have the freedom to use toll roads should you choose, or be diverted.
Listen to the beeps, check online to ensure you still have credit, and avoid heavy fines.
Minimum is actually €75
Box return, should you choose, can be done by post.

Easy for me to say - but I'd get one, just to avoid the hassle & worry.

I’m going the long way entering off the A8 at Bernau am Chiemsee, (just under chiemsee on map) down through Kitzbühel and Mittersill (handy for the Hofer (Aldi) and Billa supermarkets) then through the felbertauerntunnel €11 toll then onto Lienz, Griefenburg, Hermagor Pressegger See, Arnoldstein, Finkenstein am Faakersee, Ferlach (cheap aire €4) then into Slovenia via the Loiblpass, but that’s me, as I know that area like the back of my hand (been going every year for 20 years) 👍😁

I'm no further forward and still nervous ...I'll be setting both satnavs to no tolls anyway but might have to just buy one and return it on exit.

I think so long as you set no toll / no motorway you will be ok in Austria.
This may be harder to achieve in a Winter snowfall as motorways will be cleared first and you may be directed off minor roads onto motorways.
I had trouble returning my gobox as when I left Vienna I avoided motorways and none of the garages on route would take it back, brought it home and posted it back, got a refund about 4 months later.

Have you checked tyre requirements for Winter ?

From what I've seen it applies from November 1st and I intend to be in Slovenia or Croatia by then

Went past Würzburg today, was doing about 190kph along the autobahn so didn’t see much of it. 😁😁
Now staying about 30 miles away.

Similar experience to above. Northbound from Solvenia. Picked up the box at the service area near the border. Not a problem, but agree minimum charge is not cheap. You get a long paper receipt in English which explains about the bleeps. If you choose to use the motorway the bleeps come and change with an alarming frequency. In the event we transited the whole country in one trip. We returned the box after getting home and months later got a small refund. So not really difficult, just expensive and time-consuming.

So what's the story with these beeps then? Sounds horrendous. How are you supposed to enjoy some dutch techno when you need to be listening out for beeps coming from some weird box?
Enjoy and Dutch techno do not belong in the same sentence
