Why are you time limited ? As you entered the Schengen zone before 31st Dec no country knows you are in EU so you could stay there as long as you like ignoring the 3 month in 6 months limitation. Surely it’s only when you leave the UK again and get stamped as having entered the Schengen zone that the 3/6 month issue will arise ?
but as you have no stamp entering they can assume you entered before 31st december. if there is no stamp for a non eu state then they can safely assume you have been in the eu over 90 days. & it is for you to prove you haven't

No because they started stamping passports on January 1st ...so no stamp means you entered before it . Therefore 90 days is up 31st march and id have to prove somehow that i wasn't in shengen. Thats why i need a passport stamp when i enter bulgaria and romania etc otherwise its going to be difficult

Many years ago the kids liked to see stamps in passports, it was really difficult. Swiss did it after a lot of pleading & begging, Liechtenstein had to go to the tourist office and pay.
Unless it's part of their routine they don't do it easily, maybe easier with the old Eastern block countries.

Yeah i can only ask i guess . My back up plan is just to keep all receipts for fuel and shopping and if its accepted i do have Instagram and polar steps to prove my movements as polar steps tracks me automatically.

And your satnav. Border police asked me to check mine when I couldn't remember where I'd come from :ROFLMAO:

So the corinth canal is interesting ....but its currently closed due to a landslide right under where im parked lol so i wont be staying here 😁

Walked accross the main road bridge to get the first pics and the info boards etc then drove to the park4night spot and put the drone up. Its impressive i must say and it doesn't look 4 miles long when your sat next to it ....

Hmmm...don’t know how that will work. I’ve got Residential Status in Greece now which allows me to stay in Greece as long as I like and it doesn’t count towards the 3 month rule. SO when I next enter Greece should I show them my Biometric EU card which I read meant that they won’t stamp my passport or not show it to them which means they will stamp my passport. What happens when I next leave Greece if I’ve spent say 4 months there.

So if they do stamp your passport on the Bulgarian border you could then stay in Schengen for 3 more months from the date they stamp it ?

Tam great photos of the Canal bought back some good memories there was a boat going through when we were there. Is there still a lot of graffiti around it was the one thing that surprised me.

I never saw any and surprisingly not as much rubbish about

Try to avoid it being stamped on the way into Bulgaria, get it stamped on the way out...
Clock reset?
Im not sure if that would work but you never know. ....think the latest is you need a pcr test for entering bulgaria too ☹️ so i may cross somewhere unmanned if i can and just go on my own proof of entry and try and get stamped crossing to romania

But will see how it pans out ...not worrying about stuff

Unlike jackie who's now getting herself in a state incase she cant get in to italy , france etc ... she's talking about phoning the british embassy lol

Tried to tell her that everything keeps changing so shes aswell going with the flow but shes flustering

Great pics Tam and a great spot to stop for the night. If you had not seen the landslide. o_O

Stopped at the west end of the canal at the submersible bridge for lunch ....popped the drone up quick for a photo of the whole canal ...just the one as theres a military base right there and didnt want to get in to trouble ...theres also an excavation of an old roman road still underway .

Hi Tam, I've got to strongly advise you against that idea for a few reasons, the few " unmanned " crossings that do still exist are remote and fairly inaccessible in winter conditions ( our mild conditions here are due to end in the next few days and heavy snowfall predicted ) these crossings are all monitored by CCTV and the Bulgarian Border Police mobile units patrol these areas and up to 60 kilometers inland from all borders. You are required to purchase a vignette on entering Bulgaria and this is for all roads with the exception of very minor roads linking villages to the local municipality, the vignette is cheap enough for under 3500kg, the fines for non-compliance are not ! ( details on BGTOLL site ) you can now purchase and pay online, saves time and hassle at the border crossing. Vignette enforcement is strictly monitored by ANPR, Police and BGTOLL mobile units. PCR negative test result required at the border for entry as you thought, no news on that being lifted in the near future. There are no facilities for testing at the border so a bit of forward planning needed. Good luck with it and just shout if you need any help/info while you are here.

Thanks for the info .... I'm not looking to cross till the end of February but wasnt aware of the vignette etc ... unfortunately im over 3500 .... didn't plan to use motorways though.
Will have to see closer to border if theres any covid testing places on this side.

All fun and games

Hi Tam,, have been following your adventures with great enjoyment. Makes me feel as if we were there with you. One thing I may have missed is why you are getting rid of your Hymer and going for a Mercedes Vario. Keep up your great photography and adventures. Thankyou :clap2:

And now parked up at the foot of the citadel for tonight ....stunning views
Will get the drone up again tomorrow.
Have to make the most of the weather as its due to get really cold again next week with temps around 6-8 daytime and 0 overnight.

Theres a few reasons overall but the main one is i want to carry a motorbike on the back ....so im after a 7.5tonne

But i also think the best way to get the layout i want is to build my own.

The hymer is great and as ive fixed everything on it now whoever buys it will get hassle free ......but as im fulltime and always offgrid id rather build a van with that purpose in mind.

What an idyllic free world we live in 🙄

If you croaa in the motorhome then you offer the Greek residency at the tunnel/port you leave from before you give them the passport That is where it should be stamped if it was going to be. When you get to the actual Greek border usually there should not be any posts there , unless due to civid there might be .But you just offer the residency card & that's it.
Going the other way if there are restrictions on Greeks travelling then you just use the passport (y)
For some reason 2 pics didnt upload ....the ones showing the landslideView attachment 464168View attachment 464169

I'd be more concerned about the bridge over it falling in. Not much left near them supports

Your really stirring some fine memories for me, Tam. My wife and I sailed through the Corinth Canal and down to Epidavros in 2002 where we anchored for a few days and explored the site. While we were at the theatre in Epidavros, two opera singing tourists rendered their version of O Sole Mio. One of life's unrepeatable experiences!
