So heres a couple of pics from the last few days , poros from galatas, smelly methoni and current location at epidavros beach .... Milo's new jumper finally finished , stray dogs who have befriended us ,

hike up to old acropolis , ampitheatre and chapel of the virgin mary ( the hike up there no wonder she was a virgin) and 2 of my neighbours awesome trucks ...ive camper envy

Don't want to start a discussion about this and not suggesting anything, but how does Jackie now fit in to your or her plans, as she seems to be sticking with you and must say she looks and sounds a nice lady, are you now a team or are there plans on seperateing anytime soon?

At the minute shes just going the same way as me ....we aren't joined at the hip she goes off and does her own thing here and there ... Ive approximately another 2 weeks in the peloponnese before i start heading north towards Bulgaria as i want to exit greece before end of February (and get passport stamped stating such hopefully) at the minute jackie plans to go from greece to Venice on ferry and drive home by 31st march but that might change who knows.....she is a nice lady and we get along ok....i think shes a bit lonely on her own and had a bad year last year , lost her mum , job and dog all within a few months so she's here for her sanity more than anything. ....shes not looking forward to returning home

My plan is still to spend march in Bulgaria and Romania leaving me 30 days to navigate shengen on the way home.
Obviously covid thing's keep changing so its all dependent on that ....my intention is still to return end of April to the uk if things start to improve etc ....but if it hasn't i may have to spend longer in Bulgaria and Romania.

Still the safest place to be at the minute and Bulgaria borders open. Hopefully march will be not to bad weather wise there

To be honest she started crocheting it a few weeks back when we had that 1 week of winter ....its too warm now for him to wear it but perhaps in Bulgaria ....he does seem to feel the cold way more than jade to the point he actually shivers

It probably wont last the way they tumble about etc

Good to see you back and fantastic pictures. A refreshing thing to look at on a wet, windy and miserable day. At least we are COVID free again so everything is open as normal.

I bet those trucks struggle to get 5mpg!

The weather in Bulgaria is better than I would have imagined this time of year. 17C today. Cool at night (-1) but I would have guessed it would be colder than that being so easterly. Its a bit cooler in Bucharest (12) but again if I had not looked it up I would have expected it to be typically more like 5C during the day. Could be quite pleasant in March.

Im lost with the fuel consumption figures of some of these motors as every person ive asked will tell me how many litres per 100km as thats how they work it out in europe

The old Merc truck i really like but not practical for me ....i don't really need 4x4 etc.

Im pretty much settled on a merc vario and while there is a few models available with the 2.9 engine ill likely be buying the 4.25 one as they are heavy vans

Claimed figures for the 4.25 is 20 -25mpg which is the same as my frankia got
Toby gets 25mpg

I can live with that as overall my cost of living is low

This trip ive averaged £300 per month so far ....its almost impossible to spend money during lockdowns

Polarsteps takes me literally 2 minutes to upload 15-20 photos ....i just click add pics and it loads the latest ones from my gallery and ignores the ones ive already posted.

Loading pics on here has become a task at times and sometimes takes me 15 -20 minutes to upload the same content

So when low on data its easier.


As for the other stuff its pointless discussing it on here if im honest

Same here I decided to give it a break the last few days as i just keep getting brought down by more and more griping threads. I get that many people are suffering from being couped up and not being able to do what they enjoy but why the need to bring everyone down with them?

I wanted to check on your thread though and now that's me. Don't think I'll bother with my thread anymore as we're not touring now and I'll not post up our return journey when it's time either as someone will probably find fault with us for something.

Yeah i miss having something different if im honest ....i loved having my old VW's and custom vans and cars ... those 2 trucks just had so much character

I can understand why you are not posting if you are not touring, but please re-start when you’re on the move again. I think you would be surprised how many of us enjoy your (and Northernraider’s) posts. Vicarious travels are all we have to look forward to.

No offence intended in any of my posts, they are meant to be light hearted. I get that you can be lets say, a touch volatile on some subjects and as a result I've avoided the 'Independance' arena.

Drone pics of Ancient epidavros ....i should have waited till late evening to do this when no one around as i got approached and hassled by 2 women for flying the drone here despite there being not a single sign prohibiting it ....so I wasn't allowed to fly over the fenceline

But thats ok ....i still got some pics while she stood arms crossed shaking her head
