Overall I'd say yes but keep it quiet as i plan to come back next year and dont want it mobbedis it better than Spain Tam? You seem to be enjoying it more or is it the drone etc and getting more piccies. You seem less on your own there too. Merry Xmas
Overall I'd say yes but keep it quiet as i plan to come back next year and dont want it mobbed....with covid its obviously a little different and not getting a chance to have lunch in taverna's and see the local sights etc but the peloponnese is beautiful and every local I've met have been friendly and welcoming.... and yes there are lots of other vans about and nearly everyone chats etc even the grumpy german from the last place mellowed out after a day or 2 lol
Can't believe im half way through my trip already
I'll give it another half hour or so then chap on the van ....its just a little strangeGo over to her van , and ring her , see if you can hear phone .Northernraider
The fact that you worried shows you are a caring human being and a good friend.Ok panic over ... she's appeared...i think maybe a little hungover so possibly had a bit to drink when she went in van last night.
People handle Christmas differently so I'm not going to pry ....im just relieved she's ok ....my imagination runs of with me at times and i perhaps worry unnecessarily.
Jims snow flakes are rather incongruous to say the least !!Nice pork chop , fried veg and baked potato for tonight's dinner ...yum yum View attachment 451039View attachment 451040View attachment 451041
The Greeks are so friendly and kind and very generous with what little they have. As there are more vans around than when we were last there I so hope they are not taking the proverbial ( unlike you btw )Just had a visit from a greek man on a scooter ....he brought us a Christmas biscuit and stayed for a chat .... nice old fella he speaks english greek french and german ....says he owns a tavern about 2km up the road and in normal times has around 8 or 10 camper spaces to park when he is open But this has been a very bad year .....lucky he says he has greek gold ( olives) so he has been busy with that ....
I think covid has hit this region hard .... probably why all the locals are still happy to see us around
Its very windy today but still around 22° ive had all the windows open on Toby and all the throws and cushions outside to give it a good airing ....
Helped the dogs to open their Christmas pressies ...i think they have enough to eo them 6 monthsView attachment 451215
Yes ive found all the greeks very friendly ...even the young ones you sometimes see on the beach or whatever ...every one always says hello ...some will then ask where you are from etc and make a little conversation ....many wave at you just when you drive through villages etcThe Greeks are so friendly and kind and very generous with what little they have. As there are more vans around than when we were last there I so hope they are not taking the proverbial ( unlike you btw )
If it is still the same these people have so much less that us in our vans. To them we must seem very rich .
