Rally Chat Sunshine Festival 2017 Upton 24-28 August Meet

Hi,

We may want to add another couple to our booking. We won't need any extra space as we have already booked for the motorhome, awning and the tent. Would we be able to get another 2 tickets? Plus an extra child (but I think they are free??)

Thanks Jayne

Hi again :-)

We have 1 parking permit but will also be bringing a car with the tent/supplies in, will we need one for this?
If so could you send me the link to print one off.

Thanks Jayne x

Karen Jan sent me Tex she has received my ticket for fest giving it to me at malvern

This looks great & is a one day & night event (no camping) - wish we could make it! These are the original artists & not tribute acts

"A PRESENT FROM US AT Sunshine Festival... You may, or may not know, that we run more than just one great event. As a thank you to everyone on the page, we'd like to give you all discounted entry tickets to our Concert Of Legends 2017 on Saturday 9th September (2 weeks after Sunshine)... For just £30 (including a £10 entry discount with the promo code 'SUNSHINE') you can see all the artists in the video below, including: Billy Ocean, Paul Carrack (Mike & The Mechanics, Ace, Squeeze), The Boomtown Rats ft. We may have to look at campsites nearby for this one next year as don't want to miss it again...

Hi what time should campers arrive on thursday
Hi - it's 2pm for general camping but midday if a Sunshine Meet booked in & paid Fun or RVOC member. You aren't on our list so if you have booked via Sunshine website it's 2pm.

If it's any help to others .were booked on the Drum and Monkey fir wed night. £10
.Only 10 mins away from the festival .

Due to popular request there will be a "social gathering" :hi5: at Sunshine on Thursday evening from 7.30pm as hopefully most will have arrived by then & at other times there will be a lot to see with the festival acts & the town to explore. Nothing formal just a bring a glass or mug of your favourite tipple & maybe a chair if you like & meet up by the Fun flag, mingle & have a chat & say hi to other Funsters & RVOC members. Alan & I will still be working getting everyone pitched up until 10pm when the front gates close (or earlier if everyone is in) so we will just pop in & out so up to you all to make what you can of it. If you would prefer not to join in then that's fine too but would certainly be good to see some of you there :hi:
If anyone has a shelter that they are happy to bring along to put up on the spare pitch that we will allocate for this then please let us know. Hopefully the weather will be good :pray2: & this shouldn't be essential but regardless it will be helpful to mark where everyone can meet up.

Karen, I wonder if anyone is at Malvern and coming onto Upton afterwards. Jims coleman shelters were taken there at the end of Shrewsbury. They came in handy. I have no idea how to put them up though:LOL:

IMPORTANT: Have just emailed everyone going to Sunshine Meet with a map of our allocated area & mobile contact number for us plus useful info. - if anyone has not received this then please let me know.

ALL COMING PLEASE READ:
Understand that there has been a bit of confusion about arrivals - please be reassured that if you arrive on Thursday between midday & 10pm you will be marshalled by us onto your pitch in our allocated Fun & RVOC area (y) As everyone is down to arrive on Thursday it is only that day that we have a festival steward to help us prevent general campers trying to camp in our cordoned off (that won't stop some ) area. If anyone is delayed until Friday then please call us (you should all have our contact no. now) to see if it will still be possible to pitch in our area - we will be under pressure to to release any unfilled space to general campers as we will be in a prime spot! It's all fine when everyone is in & getting in the festival spirit :dance2:but as this festival doesn't have campsite marshals outside our area it will be a free for all until then.
Don't forget to display your vehicle pass on entry (described as "Entry Form" below which you should all already have) as detailed below - this has just been put on Sunshine website & Facebook page:

"IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL TICKET HOLDERS
- please read below

Following the tragic events across the UK and Europe, we wanted to let you all know that we are actively working with the police, local authorities and our own security teams to review how we continue to keep Sunshine Festival the safe and friendly festival that we’ve all come to love.

The festival team are working hard behind the scenes to make sure that everyone’s safety continues to be our top priority when we open the gates on the August bank holiday weekend.

Upon entry to the site it is imperative that you have the ‘Entry Form’ on the dashboard of your vehicle, and all the information filled in. If this is not present you will not gain access to the site.

Random vehicle checks will be in operation – failure to comply with the searches will result in your removal from the site – and no refunds are permitted. Being a family festival, we also encourage a sensible amount of alcohol to be brought on to the camp sites. Any amounts, deemed excessive, will not be permitted.

Once on site, please collect your wristbands as soon as possible – wristbands must be worn at all times. Failure to produce a valid wristband, when asked, may result in your removal from the site.

There will be a fast track entrance into the arena for those people who don’t have any bags with them. All bags and/or similar will be searched by our security staff at the arena entrance.

We would strongly encourage everyone to bring as little as possible with them into the arena. There will be lots of food concessions with a wide variety of food and drink available and great prices.

We ask that everyone please be patient if there are long queues and co-operate with all security requests and bag searches, as they are for the benefit of everyone.

Thankyou."

Another point to clarify as can be different at other festivals - it is fine to load your motorhome with food & drink (meant not to be excessive :giggle:) but there are restrictions on what you take into the arena as detailed on their website info. The arena is a secure area with the stages, circus, entertainment areas, bars, food & trade stands. Our camping area is just a short walk away from the arena entrance so easy to pop back to eat & drink (y) if not tempted by what is on offer.

If anyone has anything that they want to bring along to sell to fellow members at Sunshine then feel free to post on this thread :)

Know one of our friends did at Mello for similar reasons so probably best to check with the arena gate security once there. If they don't this time (understand that security at all festivals are on high alert at present) then our camping area is very close to the arena entrance so just a short walk away & fine to pop backwards & forwards all day & night - that's what we will be doing (y)
