Rally Chat Sunshine Festival 2017 Upton 24-28 August Meet

I just wanted to say thanks on behalf of Trace & Rich - they will get on the forum at some point:rolleyes: - their very first funster meet(y). (Aka Bonnie Biker)

I enjoyed it too;). It was great to meet old friends & some new faces.

@Wombles Karen & Alan - very many thanks for all the time & effort you both put into this event and it was lovely to meet you. You did us all proud, I hope you get time for a bit of a rest before too long though:LOL: X

Thanks to Karen and Allen and also Kate for the circus tickets. Had a great time then went onto Tewksbury for a couple of days and just home now. Looking forward to next year

Thank you Alan and Karen @Wombles for their great organisation in setting out and a brilliant spot could not get anywhere better. A big thumbs up for all their efforts behind the scene. Thanx to all the marshals who kept our area safe. Finally all the music and artists who made the weekend fantastic oh and weather was great ☺

Now understand from the Sunshine Facebook page that their website Earlybird offer is unexpectedly ending early tomorrow at midnight due to high numbers rebooking so will understand if some of you want to book that. We have contacted the organisers to try to finalise our Funster and RVOC discount group rate but haven't heard back from them yet but are hopeful that it will be better.
Will update when we hear back.

Sunshine organisers have been offline having a well deserved break - hope to get things moving with regards to next years meets at Mello & Sunshine once they have caught up :)

Despite months of trying to get a reply from the Sunshine & Mello festival organisers (as they are on track to sell out for both festivals this time) they don't need us for numbers this year so we won't have a Fun & RVOC meet at either of these in 2018 :( We had some fantastic feedback from last years Sunshine Meet both from members & from the organisers & we were promised a lot for this year but sadly the organisers have changed their plans.
We are still trying to get them to honour their promise (we have this in writing) of family tickets for both Mello & Sunshine which were for a fundraising auction for RVOC member Cassie to help fund her pioneering treatment in Russia for MS.
For anyone who is considering going to Sunshine suggest buying your tickets soon as the price goes up after midnight on 31st January.
We aren't giving up on the idea of festivals & events combined with motorhoming & are pleased that Lymington Seafood Festival & Stratford River Festival Rallies have had such a good response & are going ahead :hi5: We have been in contact with quite a few major festivals & may be volunteering as Stewards at some this year so will try to convince them that they should encourage more motorhomers!

Well done @Wombles for your efforts.

As with most things in life lots of hollow promises when you have served your purpose ie made the numbers up in the past

No one else could have put in more effort on our behalf than you guy's, thanks. We will still be attending and hope to meet up with other Funsters.
