Is anyone signed up to and using Roam at the moment? How do the speeds compare to residential?
Anything signal wise from communication or broadcasting in Norfolk always seems to be low, and the nearer to the sea, the worse it seems to get. 90Mb is brilliant, even if is from a satellite hundreds of miles high.I’ve seen as low as 90mb one evening in Norfolk,
I sent Starlink a message asking how can I can return the unused pole mount and after quite a few days the replied back with…..
Hi Brian,
Thank you for reaching out to Starlink Support! We apologize for the delayed response back to you as we're experiencing longer than usual wait times.
We have gone ahead and refunded your order. Please allow 7- 10 business days for your refund to reflect on your account. No need to send the adapter back to us. You may dispose as you see fit. We ask if you do decide to use the item, give us some feedback. We'd love to hear from you!
We hope this information has been helpful!
Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns by directly responding to this ticket.
Thank you
That’s nice of them.
Yes true, wonder if they’ll do that with my two Starlink systems lol.
I have one used in Wales and one roaming around and had nothing less than 120 on average...Is anyone signed up to and using Roam at the moment? How do the speeds compare to residential?
They were just suggestions to look at othe options, not limited only to the examples I gave. Some of your "cheap" suggestions are not suitable. They are designed for longitudinal load not lateral. Probably wouldn't stand up to a mild breeze with a dishy on top sadly.
I am not having a go. Just don't want anyone trying cheaper options and risking the dishy taking a nose dive. They were just suggestions to look at othe options, not limited only to the examples I gave.
Why do you need a long pole, the satellites are 550km away£129 is not too bad for a very tall pole

I am not going thereEvery little helps!
If you want it mounted above the van height without using roof space. A rear mounted pole as demonstrated by a member earlier in this thread is an excellent idea. Why do you need a long pole, the satellites are 550km away
I know, you're not daft enough to try!I am not having a go.
I suppose my next suggestion of a telescopic clothes prop wouldn't be a good idea then?Just don't want anyone trying cheaper options and risking the dishy taking a nose dive.

Put it this way... I will let you test with your own dishy, but I couldn't possible recommend anyone else tries itI suppose my next suggestion of a telescopic clothes prop wouldn't be a good idea then?
I was tempted by the £99 offer but managed to resist unlike some who I bet bought one but don't really need it!I will let you test with your own dishy,
Close but no, the original beta dish was called Dishy McFlatfaceAs an aside is it really called Dishy McDishy?
I can't imagine anyone doing that!I was tempted by the £99 offer but managed to resist unlike some who I bet bought one but don't really need it!
Me neither. At £99 then putting it on pause for when I want internet when travelling. It was a no brainer.I can't imagine anyone doing that!
#591 pole attached to ladderIf you want it mounted above the van height without using roof space. A rear mounted pole as demonstrated by a member earlier in this thread is an excellent idea.
A taller pole would allow you to raise it over the height of low buildings and very tall hedges for example when roaming.
I can't imagine anyone doing that!
Ahem ... Me neither. At £99 then putting it on pause for when I want internet when travelling. It was a no brainer.
To be honest I think I got carried away in all the excitement of the £99 deal and probably can't justify the cost of activating it for a month every time we go away in the MH. Also to make best use of it, I either need to get an Inverter or make/buy a 12v conversion kit.
My son has offered me a long term loan of a new
Netgear Nightgear 5g router, so with the addition of an external aerial that should probably satisfy my needs.
There may be a new Dishy in classifieds soon!
check out renaming your tesla, patsy, biggus dickus, or flying circus
You spelt that wong I’m Realist .God loves optimists.
Did just that for the house, plus I purchased a pole mount and didn’t need it and Starlink didn’t want it back and refunded me £52.00.Me neither. At £99 then putting it on pause for when I want internet when travelling. It was a no brainer.
