you dont need vpn on to view and use the starlink the app, the vpn is used to stream content from the UK (mainly) so i would only turn it on when you want to watch something and off if you are using the same phone to view their app. When using the Starlink app with VPN enabled, I get a message saying disable all VPN to get full functionality of the app. I have roam enabled. How would this work if you need to use a VPN in Europe?
I can earn money when I put my mind to it. Just can't be arsed these daysA serious bit of kit in its day, you were obviously a wealthy man then.
200 I believe?Any restriction of number of connected devices?
As standard, Starlink can support up to 200 devices.Any restriction of number of connected devices?
Hi ZacFound this on Thingiverse , just printed a set in tpu to stop the stand from scratching the surface where its put. They came out quite well and fit snugly. A must for anyone putting it on the roof or anywhere really. They are a bit square but will do.

Not sure to be honest, if they were bigger they could be or maybe make them with some sort of mount. Anything is possible really if you have an idea on how it will look and work.Hi Zac
Do you think these would be solid enough to be bonded to a roof. So Dishy mount could be clipped in for stationary use not moving ?
EDIT : Sorry just seen your post about PM if wanting printed - Ignore this post
so, we need to add our starlinks onto our sat dishes in some way that allows them to point in the direction required ....And being used in anger at a meet.

Sorry I don't understand your question. That Motosat F3 in the picture is long defunct.so, we need to add our starlinks onto our sat dishes in some way that allows them to point in the direction required ....
over to the techo's on here ...
But a lot of people have motorised sat dishes so if someone could work out how to mount the starlink onto an unused or even used sat dish, it might turn it into a good way to fix Dishy Mcflatface onto a motorhome ..Sorry I don't understand your question. I don't understand. I cannot see any benefit or even any possible method for that to be made to work. But a lot of people have motorised sat dishes so if someone could work out how to mount the starlink onto an unused or even used sat dish, it might turn it into a good way to fix Dishy Mcflatface onto a motorhome ..
I use a small 150w inverter plugged into a 12v cigarette lighter port . Runs the Starlink just fine .Will Starlink run off a PSW inverter? If so, how many watts are required? (Sorry, I’m electrical dummy!)
Why not just use something like this?Hi Zac

Base plate not big enough in my opinion. Why not just use something like this?View attachment 768472
He does say stationary use not movingBase plate not big enough in my opinion.
Also dishy not designed to be used while on the move. It would be ripped off of any mount I can think of.
Red to be able to remove that baseplate when moving. It will stick up too high and get knocked off.He does say stationary use not moving
if that pole mount was secured to the roof the dishy could easily put in it when stopped but certainly not for moving, my AC is higher than that easily as is my wifi aerial.Red to be able to remove that baseplate when moving. It will stick up too high and get knocked off.
Something telescopic coming down into a cupboard would be better
How high is that baseplate?if that pole mount was secured to the roof the dishy could easily put in it when stopped but certainly not for moving, my AC is higher than that easily as is my wifi aerial.
My thought process was, mechanically attach Dishy Mcflatface to the arm of the satellite dish. Raise the satellite dish arm to face the correct way using the sat dish control box. It wasn't to have the sat dish and Dishy working at the same time it was purely for Dishy 'borrowing' the mechanism to stow and orientate.I don't understand. I cannot see any benefit or even any possible method for that to be made to work.
The two systems work in completely different ways and mechanically you would be complicating things beyond all reason?
Am I misunderstanding what you mean?
I still don't get it. The Dishy has it's own motors. The two would conflict. Dish expects the pole to be vertical when in stowed position. If you start using the old dish mechanism you will screw with the dishy mechanics/electronics/software.My thought process was, mechanically attach Dishy Mcflatface to the arm of the satellite dish. I think you're overthinking my suggestion. It wasn't about integrating two systems it was about just using a redundant motorised satellite mechanism to point Dishy in the correct orientation. I also thought that the same process could be used for a solar panel, not necessarily tracking the sun, but to ensure it pointed South ...
I think that one day someone will come up with a motorised mount for Dishy ....which is only what I was suggesting...(or meant to suggest!)
