That rural discount is awesome - I'm almost tempted to order another one for the office (which is rural), put it on roam, and leave it paused until needed as a backup. For £99 you can't really argue.

I don't think it's particularly stringent. I'm in Charnwood and it's offering me the rural discount.Does anyone have a link to the terms of refund like what they define as rural.
You don't need to activate it until you want to. I didn't activate mine for 3 months after getting it.General questions if anyone can answer please (on the basis that the £99 offer is prob too good to miss)
If I buy now can I activate service later
How often can I pause the service
What is the range away from the dish (router?) to receive a signal? i.e. 10m or more
Can the dish etc be taken to different locations - I am thinking of using it at home, on the motorhome and also taking it to France when we go to the static van in summer?
Thanks
I’m not interested in the system but put my post code which is Bedford and it came up with £99Details are here: https://starlink.typeform.com/to/uMMjIRSO?utm_source=Home&typeform-source=www.starlink.com
Or if you haven't already ordered one - simply put your postcode into the box and click "Order now" - if it says it's £99, you're rural!
Thanks. I was hoping I could use it as residential but take it with us, not to use it while travelling but to use it when 'stationary/static'. If I went for Roaming, the dish etc is £300 or £99 if residential. You don't need to activate it until you want to. I didn't activate mine for 3 months after getting it.
You can pause any time you want to (on the RV tarrif). You're billed for a calendar month - if you immediately pause after activating a month, you can use it until your 30-31 days are up. Otherwise, you get rebilled for the next month on a rolling basis.
Range wise, depends where the router is - in my van, I was still getting a WiFi signal 30-40m away easily (had 4 vans all sharing it on surrounding plots, within a circle of 50-60m radius). If you have line of sight to it, no problem whatsoever - it's pretty decent. Dish location is irrelevant - it comes with a long (around 60ft iirc) cable which connects to the router on the bottom of the unit. The power cable for the router is about 2-3m.
Yes - you can take the dish anywhere you want if you have Roaming/RV. Not if it's residential only. But you'd just sign up to RV and use it static at home. Higher monthly fee, but you can pause it. You can't pause the residential tarrif.
As far as I know, you'll maybe get a slap if you take a residential-configured dish around with you - they are geolocated obviously. On my RV one, I can change the tarrif through the website - I'm interested to see if I can order a residential one for £99, then simply not activate it and change it to Roaming before I do, or the first month after activiation.Thanks. You can certainly do it the other way, (Roaming to Residential), and the kit is the same so I don't see why not.
Edit - looking into it further, you can (I believe) swap to roaming from residential without any issue. There's also a 30 day trial period, so if you couldn't you could just return the whole thing for a refund.
Is there anywhere I could confirm that? You can certainly do it the other way, (Roaming to Residential), and the kit is the same so I don't see why not.

Yes...you can change from resi to roam and back again no problem. Since march. Is there anywhere I could confirm that?
I’ve just found out I am also eligible after paying £320 for the kit with delivery on a few days agoThat rural discount is awesome - I'm almost tempted to order another one for the office (which is rural), put it on roam, and leave it paused until needed as a backup. For £99 you can't really argue.
Use the reclaim link on the Starlink residential homepage - if it's within 14 days you can get a partial refundI’ve just found out I am also eligible after paying £320 for the kit with delivery on a few days ago
Just my luck
Oh there’s a link ? I will try and find it thank you.Use the reclaim link on the Starlink residential homepage - if it's within 14 days you can get a partial refund
I live fairly centrally in a town with an occupation said to be around 111,000 and I qualify for ruralI’m not interested in the system but put my post code which is Bedford and it came up with £99
All the UK is "rural"I live fairly centrally in a town with an occupation said to be around 111,000 and I qualify for rural
You can return for 100% refund in first 30 days. Not sure why, but I have pressed the 'BUY' button .....if I can't suspend the service as stated then it's going up for sale though (apparently you can sell them and transfer ownership etc) - I feel a whole lot of new eBay/Facebook sales popping up.
Then use the reclaim link as I did . They will credit the difference back onto your account.I missed this offer by 2 weeks haaaaaaa.
A couple of questions please
Is anyone, who has set up their starlink, using a VPN such as Surfshark please?
Has anyone changed from the supplied router to their own router?
Thanks
I don't think this is correct. You can't change from the supplied router
You can bypass it, but you can't physically replace it as that's what the dish plugs into. That's what I meant - either way - you'll need the original router connected to the dish and a power supply, even if it's not doing anything.I don't think this is correct.
As I understand it you can buy a cable and then put the router into bypass mode. Bridge mode is the correct term.
The starlink router becomes invisible to the network.
