Should you be allowed to cook bacon outside in the morning?

WHAT? Are you sure?…..coffee with bacon sandwiches……who in their right mind would do that

I was with a colleague of mine the other day out for brunch and he ordered a latte with a bacon sandwich!! Really I said you want a latte??? Why not go the whole nine yards and have a mug of Horlicks!!!
Needless to say he dined alone!😂

Spot on with HP sauce being the only acceptable brown sauce(y)
H.P. sauce,,first made in Radford Nottm but because of financial problems he paid off a bill to a supplier of spices from Birmingham by giving up the recipe..Or so I read somewhere.BUSBY.

Not if you are on a boat on the norfolk broads without bacon and a neighbouring boat is having a fry up, definitely not allowed. However when you have just seen the early morning lift off of balloons at the Bristol festival and you are on the edge of the rally field with a stream of cars sitting in traffic with their windows open because it is already getting hot - well that's different.

Who would have thought that a debate on brown or red (yuc) sauce would cause so much to discuss, my grandkids like red (again yuc) sauce with most things, no accounting for taste, anyway if its bacon sarnies, it has to be brown sauce (l prefer HP fruity) and if lm doing bacon sarnies outside on a site, and you ask for red (yuc) then lm calling the sauce police and/or the firing squad, and definitely NO free sarnies from me

I think this Red Sauce with everything culture is a generational thing, as I see a lot of kids/teenagers putting Ketchup on everything these days.....I blame McDonalds.

This North/South divide thing regarding Smoked or Unsmoked Bacon is interesting, as although I am of Scottish heritage living down here in Leafy Surrey, I prefer Smoked Bacon, but my favourite has to be the round shaped wafer thin Ayrshire stuff in 3 Morning Rolls.
I cannot remeber whether its smoked or not now, I just love it when I am up there. Especially from the Butchers in Troon.(y)

Mind you a Scottish Square Sausage in a roll, is also a very tempting delight to behold.
I am not that fussed about sauce, but if needs must then Yes, HP or even Daddies Brown every time.

I canne take it much more, I am slavering!.......That's it frying pan game on! Mmmmmmmmm! Can you smell it yet?:giggle:
LES
Ah, Ayrshire Middle? My mum used to always buy that from the butchers when I was growing up.

Whats all this talk about bacon sandwiches op mentioned cooking bacon.
Smoked or not doesnt matter, what to have with it no sauce no bread egg and black pudding as a min. the most appropriate way to eat bacon fat is to collect it in the grill having cooked the bacon soak white bread in the fat grill/fry the bread cover both sides with a slice of white bread. Lubrication with brown sauce is optional .

No or at home either I’m a vegitarian……
I remember Jeremy Clarkson saying that the smell of a hot bacon sandwich with sauce was the only known cure for vegetarianism:devil:

You've all heard of double fried chips.....
Well we have double fried bacon.

We put it in the dry pan (no oil etc) and wait until it has part cooked so that some of the salt etc has come out then pour boiling water into the pan.

Give the bacon a wash about then pick it out with a fork ( other utensils are available) onto kitchen towel.

Pat it dry, pour the salty water away, wipe the pan dry with kitchen towel, back on the heat and re-fry the bacon until it is as crisp(or otherwise) as you like it.

Serve as a BLT on a ciabatta bun with mayo.

We do ourselves bacon baps after a walk in the New Forest - could probably sell dozens after the smell has drifted across the car park.

Back in our re enactment days one particular year we did the memorial service at Edgehill. It's a Sunday morning in October and we did bacon butties in the car park. Got quite a crowd 😋

I’m reporting you to the banning committee. That’s just abuse of good bacon. You should be ashamed of yourself. 🤪👍🥃🤪😘

Up 'ere in t'North, we have a big full English breakfast in a very large bap, known colloquially as a 'bin lid'. None of this plates, knife and fork nonsense
I was just being polite by only saying bacon, often add an egg and a couple of sausages, got to do it right.
