Shop workers threatened.

I'm sure if you checked, most of the people you know who caught it had eaten potatoes in the previous week. IMO Blaming the potatoes for Covid is as silly as blaming non mask wearers. Infections have been on the rise, means more people are going to catch it, mask wearing or not.
So if sheep don't eat potatoes, they don't need to wear masks?

Perhaps it should be four legs, no mask = good, but two legs, no mask, = bad .... Would Mr Orwell care to comment?

Simples, sign on shop doorway. Whilst the wearing of masks may no longer be a legal requirement, this shop requires the wearing of masks whilst on our premises to protect our staff and customers. If you choose not to wear a mask unless exempt you will not be served.

Do the sheep still have to wear masks and is there a social distancing role when interacting with them ..
Yes & also the sheep have been treated with a special dye that will mark your clothes and body! So next time YOU interfere with Welsh sheep beware! 😉

A
I’m the opposite to you. If you want to continue wearing a mask that’s fine but I’ll be giving you a very wide berth as wearing masks is to protect others from the mask wearer. Therefore the mask wearer must have something we need protecting from.
I don’t mind which people decide to do but preaching how rightful the mask wearers feel is not really helping their cause.
As has been mentioned lots of times, it's down to personal choice.
We have dodged bullets for the last 2 years i believe through taking as many precautions as available to us, one being wearing masks.
Lets hope it stays that way.
Oh and i have nothing to hide........but you don't know that.

The whole purpose of this thread, was to inform people outside Wales, what the law is in Wales regarding masks. Nothing to do with how you feel about wearing them. When a country has a certain law, surely you respect that. Just because Boris said you don’t have to wear them in England, doesn’t apply in Wales, a separate country. Why then threaten someone because they request you to obey the law.

Is this what the Uk now amounts to.

Well we’re glad that you can continue your past time unhindered! 😊

I wondered why they seemed to call lots of Welsh blokes Dye .....

Folk are perfectly free to wear RED football tops (bravely ignoring the ridicule they receive from knowledgeable folk) if they want...

... but if they want to hang out in the peace and quiet of QMJ, sitting in the shade of the giant oak tree as a gentle breeze passes by, sipping a cool beer whilst exchanging rumours and gossip about Funsters and the power of clockwork, they have to wear a more appropriate top.

Folk have the freedom to choose but other folk judge them on their choices...

Its unlikely they would take covid home as the masks don't stop you catching it ...they are supposed to stop you spreading it if you had it.

I never quite understand the logic of this.
If a mask stops covid germs transmitting from an infected person, why wouldn’t it equally stop them coming in the mask of a non-infected person?

Unfortunately, I think it is. Pig ignorant selfishness is the order of the day. It has to happen to the individual before they wake up. Masks, vaccinations, drink driving, etc etc lots of people boasting about their ability to do what they want right up to the point where it affects them. Then we have to listen to them moaning, they can’t even see the irony.

I believe the theory is that wearing a mask inhibits the droplets (when breathing out) from being expelled a fair distance from you, not to actually stop the virus from your exhalation. So it will not filter out the virus when breathing in. Just my take on it. :giggle:
And I am known to wear a mask if I deem it prudent, I certainly do not want to be informed of when and where I should wear it by some jobsworth on this FUN forum.

Are you listening to yourself moaning? Seeing the delicious irony? :D

To write all that that in the size it would need so people saw it would take up the whole shop front 😁

Because they dont stop the germs they only stop droplets from a sneeze or cough from travelling any distance

To all intents and purposes, it's broadly the same thing in this context.

Masks work - the evidence is clear. But they work best as part of a range of precautions - including social distance and handwashing.

It's almost like the government hinted at this over and over and over.... Hands, space, face.

I would be delighted if after all this is over, some of those behaviours continue. Blokes washing their hands regularly, especially after going to the loo (ugh). Premises cleaning high-touch areas much more regularly. People giving each other a bit more time and distance. And when we know we are ill with coughs and colds, putting on a mask before getting close to other people indoors. These strike me as some gentle courtesies that wouldn't go amiss.

But we then risk the slightest infection attacking our none existant immunity system. We need germs and bacteria to stay healthy. There is a line somewhere between the two extremes and I think common sense has a big part to play ....

Indeed - but I don't think thats quite the issue people think it is. It is important as kids to develop those immunities. As a 48 year old, my immune system is in reasonable condition and it doesn't need fine-tuning through catching everyone else's common cold or URTI each winter.

And to be honest, I'd rather not give you mine - I have no idea how vulnerable you may be...so perhaps if I am ill a mask might be a nice thing to do for you.

Oooooh, Matron! ;)

I wear a mask because I'm worried if I take it off, I won't be able to break the habit I've developed of mouthing swearwords at most people.
Yes, I worry about lip-readers too………! ;)

We do this in our shop...it says mask required. No mask = No entry...please don't argue...we can serve who we like when we like. we have masks behind the counter if required.... (In more PC terms obvs)
