All looks great Carol, looking forward to more photos and write up
Hello to Eddie

Thanks for posting your adventures on the NC500 Carol. Doobray and I are going to meet up and take this route on holiday at the end of the month. I can't wait after seeing your pictures. Hopefully the weather will be kind.
We need to firm up on the actual stop-overs and your log has been most helpful.

Now for the next updates, not had any iInternet until now, we had a good day in Portree with the festival lots of youngsters and all really friendly, we stayed the night on the car Park in the centre of Portree without any trouble though there were tents on the car park as well, it says no camping but no one bothered us. While we were there Danny McCaskill from Dunvegan put on a Stunt show a couple of pictures.

Has it been really windy on the west today Carol, had phonecall about 2 of my trees coming down today.

The next day we went to Waternish, one stunning place the weather was not good so we could not take advantage but anyone going in good weather you are in for a treat, we were told the head chef from the 3 chimneys has opened a restaurant in the harbour and its amazing, we whiled away a hour at Skyeskyns before

making our way off Skye to Plockton. Can't say how pleased I was to have spent a week on Skye with no mist at all.

we are slowly catching up to Carol and Eddie. currently wild camping outside Dumbarton on the shores of the River Clyde, A nice sunny evening but a cool breeze blowing, we are spending a couple of weeks in Northern Scotland before dropping down to the Falkirk wheel meet.

Next bit but not what you are expecting, we go across the bridge back to main land and Plockton still love it as much as ever but the weather turned really mean, we spent a afternoon wrapped up and looked around, we were thrilled to see a old steam train blowing his horn puffing smoke and passing through, we took some photos, and stayed on the car park in the centre of the village, we were told by a couple of locals there's always one or two campers on, so we joined them
But as we sat there the sleet was coming down horizontal and a good job we were sheltered because of the wind. We managed to check the weather out for the next couple of weeks and the Route 500 is where the worst of the weather is going to be
Very windy and cold, so we have decided to take a rain check on the 500 and head for some warmer weather. Some pictures of Plockton yesterday and our journey back out of Scotland today, sad but that's the beauty of the Motorhome, you can change your mind. Thank you for reading about our little adventure, and one more thing off my bucket list, seeing Skye mist free.

@Carol, we watched the forecast on countryfile on Sunday and commented how poor it looked for you and Eddie - such a shame, but you've posted a wonderful account of a fabulous journey. Now it's time to head south for some good weather(y)

A couple of photo's showing how spectacular but wild our journey down Scotland and over the border was we went through hail sleet rain, and sunshine but that is what makes it so beautiful, the mountains over the border looked a bit boring by comparison. We will stay out on our journey, but just on a different road. (Not the wrong one):)

Those bikes sounded awesome. But they missed the falls, don't know what all the locks around the railings were for. :)

Love it Carol, jealous and excited for you, I so love Scotland

Years ago we had an amazing family holiday while staying in Arisaig, back in tugging days, took a boat trip to Staffa and Rhum, the highlight of the trip was literally passing over a Minke whale, a truly amazing day for us

Thanks Glenn.
Hi Glenn, there seems no trouble with staying on the car park as we did but I don't know of any Camping sites in Plockton. I've put a few photos on my earier post. Lots of nice places. (y)

Just arrived at Bunroy Park c&cc site located at Roy Bridge for another overnight stay.
Loch Ness tomorrow and on to Inverness.:)

Hi Carol, Shame you have left Scotland. We were hoping to cross paths as we head back down on the west coast. Parked at Ardmair at the moment before heading down to Poolewe tomorrow. Today sunshine and showers, but a lot warmer. Enjoy the rest of your tour.

Hi Carol,
Thanks for the help. I think we will do the same as you. Some fantastic pictures. Here's hoping for good weather.

The CCC Site at Rosemakie is the best for seeing the Dolphins from Channery Point, some nice bike rides from there, hope that the fishing goes well. (y)

@daveandsan

looks like you are not doing too bad with the weather now (y)

we have been to Chanonry Point a few times and never yet not seen dolphins, but have learnt since the best time is the hour after low tide as the tide starts to come back in, we must have got lucky in the past

also other bet tip for there was the chippy on the main road, on the way in from Inverness direction (y) don't know its name but it is the only one on main road
