No transit France.

Sadly the various minority groups have more yuuuuuuuman rights than the majority
Or there again, maybe they have the same "yuuuuuuuman" rights as the majority but have to exercise them more because they are more discriminated against?

I understand what you are saying, but with France having the highest daily infection rate in Europe today (a mighty 208,000), what is the point in stopping folks from UK (where infections are similar).

Yes it's their right I agree, but what are they hoping to achieve. What are any European countries hoping to achieve by these travel restrictions.
We have an almighty 187,000 plus more as we do not have test kits to report actual numbers). The point is they don’t need more people adding to what is already a large number ( all the ski enthusiast etc)

Looking at the figures, am I alone in thinking it’s political ?
Nope☹️☹️
Little Twat trying to boost his ratings, not sure what the situation is in France with the candidates but don’t think Macron has done much for the French people.
Hopefully we won’t roll over on the fishing as that would make him look better.

Latest from U.K. gov website. UK citizens not allowed to travel across France to residences in other EU countries. Also reports on lunchtime news if people being turned back at the tunnel and ferries.
And from that link 'The French authorities confirmed on 30 December that UK nationals who are resident in other EU Member States and who have travelled to the UK for the Christmas period will be able to transit France over the New Year period in order to return home to their country of residence.'

That’s good then for those poor souls who were refused transit from Calais recently. I thought it was poorly thought out, not covering all likely instances, and good to see the French have quickly rectified that 😊

France has been forced to back down over banning UK travellers🤔 just announced😊

Exactly what the scum did last year & then had to back down over it shortly after.Exactly the same here & the old b//****ks about the 28th put in to save face. They cannot stop anyone who is an eu resident from wandering around at will.

Choice words, I feel you may be angry ?
To say the least. They do it continually, They always have done. There aren't words to describe them .I'm farther right of Chris on them than he even is.
Smithy on post #99 found both Eurotunnel and ferries available for the 4th and 5th go January.
Only tunnel.

I'd have to disagree with you, and I have an example, but it is not relevant to this thread

Morphing into Le Trump!

Makes sense - going "home" is a fairly compelling reason to travel whereas bopping off to your holiday hideaway for a spot of ski-ing or winter sun quite clearly isn't.

Not defending Macron, but one of the problems for France is that they are still at the peak of their delta infection plus omicron is hitting hard as well, so two variants very active at once. U.K. got its delta wave over earlier.

BUT they did twice, both times for over 48Hrs,and they can again if they want too...sod all any EU resident can do about it, as its their Country...they do it to prove they can...

& why I always make multiple complaints to ensure that the scum eventally get fined, same as the poles & Hungarians are having done to them for failing to comply with the rules.

My nephews friend has been self isolating at his dads empty house in Derbyshire for 14 days, sent off a PCR test to fly back to work in Dubai, its just come back Positive!
I think he may need to send another one. How long did it take to get the results back for him ?

Still less than they have. So every UK resident dilutes their total.

my granddaughter aged 9 yrs tested positive for 3 consecutive weeks after her isolation, and her dad was told by track and trace that there have been a case of still testing positive for 90 days. that was on the original variant...
