Actually, what it says in the passport is "Her Britanic Majesty's Secretary of State Requests and Requires . . . .all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely etc etc" The word "requires" smacks of the days of gunboats and imperial "diplomacy". Just when we, (the UK), stopped being able to tell other countries what our expectations and demands are in respect of them letting our nationals into their sovereign territory seems to have passed some people by, but it was a long time ago.

How many normally do so? (Does 100k represent a normal number, an increase or decrease against normal?)
How many Nigels are travelling North at the same time ? (Given the fact there are approximately 10x as many residents of England than Scots.)
To think it is a one way flow is simplistic

FYI, 100k represents ~0.02% of the Scottish population. If 0.002% of the population of England travelled north, that would be 110k.

That was just silly. PCR tests can continue to give +ve results for weeks after you are fully recovered as they do not differentiate between viable and nonviable virus. That's why in the UK (and IOM) you are considered fully recovered 10 days after a positive test and they do not test you again for at least 90 days regardless. Even for hospital admissions/surgery for other illness.

Wasnt this the flaw that the creator of the PCR test described over a year ago? That the purpose of a PCR is to make symptoms detectable by amplifying them.

Update for anyone really interested in travel from Spain, transiting threw France to UK via Eurotunnel.
We left Spain yesterday (Thursday) crossed Spanish border, we go via Vielha tunnel. No snow on the roads and no one to stop us at the Border. We are travelling by car this time not Motorhome.
Transited mostly via motorway Toulouse, Orleans, Chartes etc (2 drivers) apart from food and fuel stops drive straight through the night. We had already completed all necessary details requested by Eurotunnel eg API, Passenger locator forms, COVID pass & Antigen test.
Arrived at Eurotunnel without seeing any Police or Customs got our boarding pass as usual from the machine & told to proceed straight to boarding. Passports checked and stamped by French then by UK. Boarded train and travelled to UK.
