Ninja Foodi, "Thread".......

OK guy's oh is looking to get a Ninja but i/we don't know which one to get ,all confusing IE 14-1 11-1 grill etc so which one is the best too get .
Afraid that's a how long is a piece of string question - or what is the best motorhome?
It all depends.

I think it depends on the type of food you want to cook. I have the 15-1. I've batch cooked curries, stews, pasta bakes etc. I've steam baked cakes in it, steam roasted chickens, air fried things like scampi, fish fingers etc etc.

There are quite a few people that end up adding to the collection. I was tempted by the grill in addition to mine but I was put off by comments that cleaning inside the lid was a bit of a nightmare. The 15-1 is a doddle to keep clean (as all the smart lids models must be).

My concerns with these 'clever' gadgets, even the largest one is, how the heck would you cook a meal for say 5? Kids love burger's and chips and so do we :)
I watched a video this morning of someone cooking burgers - could just about het 2 burgers in side by side, for a family of 5 that would be useless! So what am I missing here?
I think I'd find it like the Nespresso coffee machine we were given for Christmas - great if you have no friends and on your own, but, if you do have friends and they turn up, you'd probably lose them, as all you'd be doing is standing at the Nespresso machine waiting for the coffee!!! :) :)

We have recently upgraded to the Smart lid 14-1 and it is far easier to clean the my original Ninja and having just the one lid is so much easier no need to store the pressure cooker lid in the cupboard .
I’d tried cakes in my original one and they weren’t very successful but in this new one they come out perfect!!

We have the 15 in 1, you do have two racks, a low and high rack, so you can cook a reasonable quantity of food. Clearly if it’s a meal with multiple ingredients then yes for a complete meal for 2 or 3 but for 5 it’s probably part of a meal only.

They are very versatile but and it’s not only very quick but very good for some things. It’s far more than a typical kitchen gadget because it is so versatile and is often the best way of doing something.

I totally agree with you on that!! Last time the family came round I said I had no coffee pods left and just made a large pot of tea otherwise I would have been in the kitchen for ever:giggle:

Gina.

We bought the ninja op100. More than enough for both of us.
We bought it just before going away for 90 days it has been fantastic. Easy to use and clean and has transformed some of the cooking we can now do in the van.
Highly recommended

I relented and also bought the Max pro grill. I was initially put off by the cleaning comments, as the 15-1 is so easy, but if you clean it after each use (which some people apparently don’t do 😳) it comes up lovely.
Certainly compliments the 15-1

Thanks for the info Lisa (y)Ive been looking at that for a while but had seen reviews that it wasn’t easy to clean. I may have to invest in one.:giggle:

I understand that a lot of you are using these at home, but can they be used with an inverter in the motorhome?

Hi can you tell me where you ordered it from please as we have been all over the place trying to get one even Ninja don't have any .thanks

I have been looking for one for quite a while to , no stock anywhere . Then I happened to be on the Ninja dual Facebook page it was the middle of the night and Some one said QVC had them in stock but to hurry .Hubby wasn't to happy when I woke him to say I got to get up and order mine In the early hours 🤣.they sold out next morning . Best ring them to see if they are having any more coming in or keep an eye on fbook that group tends to keep one another up-to-date on where and when to buy . Be careful thought lot of folks have been scammed make sure it's a reputable company before handing over the cash

Yesterday was the first use of the pressure cooker built into my Ninja 9 in 1. The ALDI instructions on the 1.5kg pork shoulder said cook in the oven for two hours. The Ninja did it in 45 minutes - including the warm up time, and I have to say it was moist, tender and absolutely delicious!

Whilst away in France I decided to treat myself to the 11 in 1 model and popped it in my Amazon shopping basket with the intention of buying when I got home. Went to my basket this morning and the damn thing has gone up and not by just a few quid - not a happy bunny!☹️☹️
Don’t expect they will be available on any Black Friday deals next month but will wait and see.

big map - thanks for the heads up. I’ve ordered one and it will be here sometime next month!

Well, I finally folded and ordered one and it arrived today. I made a late lunch and my tea in it. I'm actually really impressed by how good it is. I got the 9 in 1, 6 litre model. It's perfect for me living on my own.

I'll need to order a recipe book now.

We have the same one. Don't just use the air fryer bit: use the saute/sear and the bake/roast as well. Brilliant! We haven't used the main oven since!

I wouldn’t bother with the recipe books, loads of recipes online, cooking circle, youtube, etc. once you have a few basic recipes you can vary them and then adjust times for normal recipes.

We have a gas AGA cooker which we turned off earlier in the year, and since then have been cooking for the two of us on a mix of a twin halogen electric hob, gas BBQ, charcoal Kamado, and lately the Ninja 15 in 1, which, to be honest, we regarded as a bit of gimmick to start with.

With temperatures now starting to drop I’ve turned the AGA on low for some background heat - with the doors downstairs open it heats the house enough for the central heating not to cut in at all -but not high enough for cooking.

With outdoor cooking now a bit restricted I’m exploring what the Ninja is capable of and I’m very impressed, especially with the ability to switch between modes and temperatures for the same recipe - lamb tagine as an example with frying and searing followed by two different pressure cooking periods. Top notch. (y)

I'd been contemplating whether to get one for a while but was a bit put off by a lot of posters on You Tube who had bought one to cook chips and chicken nuggets 'for the kids'.
In the end, I gave in and ordered the 15 in 1 which arrived today.
I've spent half the day studying the books finally deciding to cook the roast chicken and potato wedges. They were very nice 🙂.
So far, so good!
I've got a piece of brisket for tomorrow 🤞.

Doing a roast chicken in ours as we speak. Steam roast setting. 👍
