Ninja Foodi, "Thread".......

The small Ninja at 4.7l is the OP100UK

The 6l is the OP300UK

The dogs danglies one is the new 7.5l 15 in 1 OL750Uk

the 6l 11 in 1 is the OL550UK

Not that I am aware of, Stephen.

It depends on how you want to use it. Do you do batch cooking? Would you want to cook a whole chicken?

My 15 in 1 is my first ninja, but I wouldn’t have wanted the two lid version as it’s another item (spare lid) to store.
I'm really tempted - I mean 6l is "only" 1.3l larger 🤪
Trouble is... I already have a slow cooker, an airfryer and a breadmaker plus recently bought a new stove... how can I justify it to myself... especially one of these single lid versions ???
:unsure::unsure::unsure:

Correct me if I'm wrong...
Even with the one lid version, cooking something using different methods is not programmable or unattended?

Eg
you can't go from pressure cooking a chicken to "tendercrisping" automatically without moving the slider.
or sear some meat before slow cooking it?

How many of the 14/15 or even 11 programmes do you actually use?
Is it like my washing machine 17 programmes with a zillion options but I only ever use three.

Are these all in your van, all I have is a small Remoska?, a cast iron hot plate, and 4 gas rings how have I managed for 50yrs???

Paul and Kate, Is it possible to supply the model number for the single lid mini ninja for this uninitiated Old man, please? (It's all very confusing)

and, is one allowed to shout at it. like Gordan Ramsey, if it cooks it wrong??
L' Hobo
Ol550uk is the foodi number that we have 👍.
No shouting required though.

Home or van...
Had a Remoska thought it useless & a waste of space.
My van has two gas rings
You've been motorhoming for 50 years? Wow!

With my airfryer, if doing wings or fries etc, it helps for even browning if you give the basket an occasional shake - how do you do this in a Ninja? Or do you simply 'stir' the chips with a spoon/spatula?

For a whole chicken, I use the steam roast setting. Just one setting that does it all. The pressure builds up and then it automatically adjusts to the roasting. No moving of the slider required, no other buttons need pressing.
No attending needed until it bleeps when ready.

And, a 1.4kg chicken takes 35mins to cook...A 2.25kg = 45mins

Always moist, doesn't dry out. Crispy skin. (Terry says, cause I don't eat meat ;))

Must admit, the few times I use it (and now I have my recently bought Micro-wave) I think the Remoska will have to go.

I have not had the comfort of my PVC for 50yrs, mostly VeeDubs (one of which I still own )

I’ve got the ninja 15 in 1 and it’s a fantastic bit of kit.
Sorry to pester you.
Isn't it too big for one or two portions - a couple of pork chops for example - or do you always batch cook in it?
Have you done any other 'roasts' in it, eg beef?
How many of the 15 programmes do you actually use? [I can't imagine using the yoghurt option!]

Thanks

Not at all...I've cooked Beef, Pork, Chicken, and fish. All came out really well, and I'm no cook!
I haven't had it that long but I've used air fry, bake, saute, pressure cook, steam roast, tendercrisp and dehydrate. I'm not sure I'll use the yoghurt function myself but you never know.

I look at it that I can put anything in it, whether it's just a small portion of garlic mushrooms or a joint and I don't have to turn on the big oven. It cooks a lot quicker. It does take a bit of getting used to and the first time you do a quick release on the pressure cooking setting, makes you jump!

It can seem noisy at first, but you get used to it. It is tall! You would need to pull it out in front of wall cupboards as you may not be able to open the lid.

At this stage, I wouldn't put my chips in it as I can't be faffing with keep opening and shaking the basket. My actifry has a paddle that continually turns and I don't have to look at them.

The other option is to look at the pro health grill.... as it has a wider cooking area..

Go on, buy the big one!

For a small charge, (entrance fee) I can attend all of the rally's you go to and give you an honest opinion on the Ninja.
(and IF you don't like it, I will dispose of it for you)

PS. I have a wide experience of experimental cooking (my own) and rarely refuse any free food!

I think a demonstration for Langtoftlad and I at the 3F meet would, probably, convince us?

He'll have to get his name down then ;)

IF he doesn't, (but he should) I can, probably, eat his portion and let him know?

(I, know, I know, I'm far too kind, it's just the way I'm made I suppose?)

AFAIK, your rally is non EHU... or are you saying you use it via an inverter ?

Anyway, now added my name on your 3F's thread... 🤞

Currently trying to find out why the 14in1 is £75 cheaper for the same capacity, same power as the 15in1.
What is the 1 thing missing, and would I need it or miss it o_O.

Edit:
Think it's "Steam Roast" which sounds like it's probably a frequently used option, and so would be missed .
I've gone from looking at the £150 Mini to the £300 15in1 ... which is only £150 less than my flippin' new one month old full sized stove :crying1:.

The probe :)

Which, i hasten to add, I haven't used yet

Useless piece of information - I've just pressure cooked 2 eggs in it. Took 6mins to build pressure and 3mins to cook for hard boiled.

No explosions or cracks :giggler:

small pan on the hob, 1 minute to heat, 3 1/2 to cook. leave in hot water as it cools, hard boiled eggs in half the time

or put the eggs in a kettle, boil to make tea or whatever and 2 jobs done at once

hmm, not on my electric hob.... and then I don't get to say that I use my ninja daily

We have the 15 in 1 smartlid..fantastic bit of kit, use it all the time in the van👍 We are just preparing a curry to go into it as I type.😋
