Hi Kate...

Not many days go by where Judy does not use it..... She said it was the best Xmas present I have ever bought her....:giggler:

Joking aside... Yes they are brilliant...(y)

Although..... I do love baking cakes and Pasties, but have never had a good outcome with them, so I use the normal Electric fan oven for them...

It must have saved what it cost over time in electric.... as others have said, cuts cooking time depending on what you cook by about half.. (y)

I’ve got the ninja 15 in 1 and it’s a fantastic bit of kit.
Steam roast chicken for Terry and Faith 🐶, even dehydrate liver for Faith as snacks.
Lots of batch cooking done in speedy times.
Still got loads more to try…..

But, as for chips, I still go back to my trusty Tefal ActiFry. You can’t beat the paddle turning your chips whilst cooking. If done in the Ninja, you have to constantly check and shake.

There is a really good group on fb called “Ninja foodi UK recipes - ninja recipes”
Lots of tips and recipe files 👍🏼

We got the smallest simplest one, which is just about luggable enough to take away in the van. Great bit of kit but we probably only use a small percentage of what it can really do

We've just upgraded to the single lid ninja.
Steam and airfry at the same time.
Full roast chicken 25 mins. If you want extra crispy skin 30 mins.

Kate and Paul as gone Ninja mad we now have
New Ninja multi cooker
Ninja grill
Ninja mini chopper
Ninja food processor.

We haven't used the hob or oven for months now 👍

Looking at Shark hoovers as they are the same company Ninja Shark.
If the hoovers are built like the Ninja stuff then they might be replacing our Dyson.

I looked at one of these, some time ago, to take in the van but, is the wattage not too high for an EHU??

How long do baked potatoes take?

I had to put the main oven on for a single chicken leg for Ann today, this thing should save some electric 👍
Brenda par boils them for 20, then in the Ninja to airfry for 15-20 minutes, depending how crisp you prefer the skin. "DONT EVER USE FRY LIGHT IN THE NINJA" it ruins the surfaces

The small one is on Brenda's must have in the van now to go with the Ninja grill & oven already in there. Has changed how we cook meals in our house as it saves so much time

Been doing some maths. Our main oven is 2750w 🤯

If we buy a Foodi Mini and use it 4 times a week it will pay for itself in 3.1 years, then there's the time saving bonus, and also electric is going up again in April. So I think we'll get one, downside is the room they take up and they aren't cheap 🤔

Have had mine for 2 years now and we use it most days I’d be lost without it. We rarely use the hob or oven now. It must have paid itself over and over again.
We have thought of upgrading to the single lid one that Paul and Kate mentioned
It does make it a lot easier to use the tendercrisp function.

Paul and Kate, Is it possible to supply the model number for the single lid mini ninja for this uninitiated Old man, please? (It's all very confusing)

and, is one allowed to shout at it. like Gordan Ramsey, if it cooks it wrong??

What is the best Ninja for camping ???

And would the electric on a site be up to taking it with us...

I’ve got the XL, it’s the one with the temperature probe it’s brilliant, select your meat and how you want it cooked stick in the probe and off you go all automatic. When cooking chicken I spatchcock it otherwise the chicken just touches the in lid filter. I’ve had great results with chicken, pork, gammon but not so good with beef usual a bit tough, even cooking it on Dehydrate for 6 hours, probably need to buy a better cut of meat. Roast potatoes, parsnips, peppers onions chips all come out spot on and in half the time of a conventional oven. As mentioned above there’s a Ninja Facebook group where lots of recipes and tips are shared.👍

I would have thought cooking Beef on dehydrate for 6 hours would make it tough but I haven't use mine yet so perhaps dehydrate means something different.

A heads up to all aspiring Ninja owners, QVC has a resale shop at Warrington at Birchwood retail park, they sell off the returns and still honour the warranty Ninja Foodies, various models started at £79 and the dearest was £99 for the all singing 15 in one model, just off the M6 at J21 N or S. The main reason for returns is that people don't read the instructions and realise they cook twice as quick! They were piled floor to ceiling in November, might be worth giving them a call to see what stock they have a massive saving on new. All cleaned out and checked and ready to go with all accessories.

Yes dash300 I thought that as well it’s named dehydrate on the control but in fact it just slow cooking the temperature sits at 60degrees for 6hrs (longer or shorter if manual is selected), other people who have posted on the Facebook forum seem to have had a lot of success with this method even with Brisket, I really must try a more tender joint.👨‍🍳

Oh no, another gadget I don’t need but will now give serious consideration.😵

Is there a single [smart] lid 'mini'?
A 6l size seems a bit too big for one.

Not in stock at Currys shops even though it says they are on the Web site🙄 wasted journey to town, mind you I bought some Bud Light so not totally 😎. Ordered from currys ebay account and no charge for delivery.
Checked the qvc site yesterday and none in stock.

I really really really want one, but have managed to convince myself that I don't need such a large size for a smart-lid, and anyway its only for cooking sausages successfully - I don't eat them myself and when I cook them they seem to go from underdone to burnt in the blink of an eye... I used to turn them when serving so the burnt bit was underneath but Mark's wise to that now.

They don't show them on line as its a clearance store 01925813725 give them a ring to see if ant in before setting off, it is a bit like a jumble sale as its all the returns and end of line stuff but all boxed and warranted

Not that I am aware of, Stephen.

It depends on how you want to use it. Do you do batch cooking? Would you want to cook a whole chicken?

My 15 in 1 is my first ninja, but I wouldn’t have wanted the two lid version as it’s another item (spare lid) to store.
