Just a thought. Is your Poynting antenna connected to the RUTX50 using the Poynting SMA tails or do you use SMA extension leads to reach the RUTX50?

In the past I have had occasion to change out an extension lead as whilst externally it looked ok, it was not fully crimped (manufacturing fault) and was significantly compromising the signal transmission to the router.
No extensions, it comes direct from the antenna and connects directly into the sma ports. There is even this little boot that goes over the nut on each connection to ensure they are tight.

Ah well, back to the drawing board. Hope you find a solution soon

So Teltonika have not been very good at all with their assistance but Solwise.co.uk have been very good, and they are going to send me another Router and i will send this one back, i cannot ask for any more than that. It's just a shame Teltonika are not more helpful seeing as it's their product.

Hopefully this will resolve my issue, fingers crossed.

The replacement router is here and so far it looks OK, this time though i have not touched the firmware so it's on stock firmware, doubt that makes any difference, but the in built speed test is now a lot more (see below).

Waiting on some SMA adapters before i can test properly as i sent them back by mistake but they were from the antenna box not from the rut box.

Not sure it’ll make a difference to your issue as that sounds more fundamental, but worth a try.

Teltonika 1: Cell 1 Main
Teltonika 2: Cell 1 Aux/Div
Teltonika 3: Cell 2 Aux/Div
Teltonika 4: Cell 2 Main
Just a quick question, which one of the antenna ports on the back of the RUTX50 is Teltonika1? Is that from left to right as you look at it i.e. the USB is on the far right under teltonika 4 or between 3 and 4 to be more precise or is it the opposite way as they dont appear to be labelled 1/2/3/4

zac 1-4 left to right when looking at the back, USB on the right

From Teltonika info, the important thing seems to be to match each 1-2 or 3-4 pair on the X50 to a single antenna Main-Aux/Div pair.

That was my specific problem - because I didn’t know to pay attention - one side of my X50 was connected to 2 x Main and the other to 2xAux/Div

In my noddy understanding, bear of simple brain and all that, I think it meant the 4x4 mimo wasn’t able to make best use of the correct antennas for the relevant frequencies - using a low band antenna for high frequencies etc.

Perfect thanks, going to connect them this way to see if i can see any improvement but its already a lot faster that what i was seeing on the previous one even though Solwise have come back saying they cannot see an issue with the one i sent back. Very strange.

Getting the correct antenna to the correct input on the RUT made a big difference to the performance on mine.

Do note, in Teltonika speak, they can be labelled 0,1,2,3; so you have 0 (Main) and 1 (aux), then 2 (aux) and 3 (main); so the outermost connections are the Main ones.

Glad a replacement unit seems to have fixed your issue zac - I've been impressed with mine once I got it all up and running - I have even set it up so it can use Starlink as a wired WAN and my home wifi as a wireless WAN when close to the house.

I think i am just destined not to own one of these devices, received the replacement, and it tested OK on the download speeds so powered it off waiting for the SMA connectors to arrive which they did yesterday. Fitted the SMA connectors this afternoon and connected all the antenna's and set up the device as usual ie wifi ssids, passwords etc etc.
I was looking at some stats in the device webui, and then I noticed the data connection was not connected and of course no internet. Rebooting made no difference, this replacement was also not picking up firmware updates as it was saying it was up-to-date, but it was not so I downloaded the latest firmware from Teltonika's site and updated it manually which went OK. Still no data connection though, so as a last resort i set it back to factory settings and the modem came back on but after approx 5 mins it went to disconnected again, so I am now in a worse state than before as now I have no internet rather than a slow internet.
Have emailed solwise again so will see what they come back with on Monday, but this thing has caused me more issues in 1 week than any other router have ever owned and used in the last 25 years of working in I.T

I will factory reset it again tomorrow as i have had enough of it this evening, tomorrow i might have more patience with it.
