Motorhoming Life… A survey of the mundane - breakfast.

Always cook it outside then eat outside unless there is a frost then it’s inside😋😋
There were icicles hanging on the van when I cooked at Lake Titisee las year🥶🥶

Have you got Wildbill on ignore? :giggle:
Nope, no-one's on ignore as I'm a fully fledged member of the NMC (nosy moo club). :giggle:
I've just been able to view a post by Wildbill so doesn't look like he's ignoring me ... maybe there's been a 'glitch' somewhere.

After being on a proper Dutch breakfast of 2 slices of dark brown bread and cheese for breakfast, I switched to Greek full fat yogurt with granola, with dark chocolate, fresh strawberries, blackberries, grapes and melon, it’s a winner😎

SHMBO made scrambly egg on toast for brekky in bed this morning. Nice cuppa, 2 sugars but don’t stir it cause I don’t like it sweet, just awaiting 2 slices of HOT (must be HOT!) buttered toast to be smothered with strawberry conserve!

Cheers!

Here's an idea, just put in one sugar and stir it ... Gotta save money so you'll half your sugar bill by doing this! 😄

Rarely cereal, nearly always small cooked, no where near a belly buster.
Max 2 or 3 different items 4 if we count the toast.
1 & 1/2 sausages or 2 slices of bacon, sometimes just an egg. 3 between 2 if scrambled, bit of tomato or mushroom mostly in a small bap or on a slice of toast. Couple of bean to cup or nespresso coffees.
No extra salt maybe a bit of sauce.
Couple of times a year scallops with the black pudding in a crusty roll or smoked salmon or kipper, poached egg, avocado salsa.
If we do buy cereal its Kellogs Just Right … handy in the MH.
On the other hand we hardly eat any cakes or puddings and we have lots of salad, seafood and veg.

Is it Just me on bloody Mary’s?
I always cook my breakfast bangers and bacon on the bbq the night before.. great flavour, saves gas and too many smells in the van.
If we are adventurous I have blitzed oats and make square oat pancakes in our ridge monkey with lashings of squeeze honey..
and if it’s a super special occasion we go little rum shots for breakfast.. it’sa family tradition thing!!

For the most part we take our dimestic routine with us. Me up at 0600 to make tea for me and a big thermos plus a mug of coffee for her and a cookie each, All consumed in bed. Me up at 0830 and ablushions before dressing. Her follows. Then mostly her inverter or hookup toast and home made marmalade, me Kellogs cornflakes.
When properly encamped with awning sides floor mat etc then we live in there making good use of a cheap induction hob and large Prestige pan. Paella when fresh ingredients are available. This being our winter arrangement when in Spain. Where was I?

Good Afternoon

As we are still waiting to collect our motorhome, pending MOT, service, hab service, valet etc. my life is spent reading this forum and dreaming of what’s to come. It is comforting to see such helpful responses to folks with problems.
This morning after getting breakfast sorted and returning to bed with bacon sandwiches and coffee I was wondering….
How is breakfast taken by the Motorhome Fun community?
Please share your motorhoming breakfast routines! Do you do things differently to when at home? Inside or outside? Earlier or later? Fry up or healthy options?
I need to know how to do breakfast properly if we are going to fit in with all you experienced travellers!

A porridge pot ,love the ones with golden syrup! Add a few blueberries. Excellent for little washing up! Not so good for the environment.

Yorkshire tea and oj for OH, coffee and water for me and either a full English or bacon and black pudding rolls with a smidge of bbq sauce … 😋

I was going to say, "then why do it" but it might start an argument, so I'll refrain.
(making it yourself is much cheaper and if you use honey instead of Golden Syrup is much healthier and tastes similar/better) :giggle:

Tea first thing in the morning. Then boiled egg and toast, muesli and fruit juice. Can’t function without a decent brekkie.

We developed a routine on our last gad about. Instant coffee and tea bag tea (and a fag) in the van on waking.

Drive somewhere even prettier. Pot of fresh coffee/leaf tea respectively and a version of a cooked breakfast whilst we decided on the days activities or location. Worked like a dream.

If we are away just the two of us it's muesli for him and either gluten free waffles (if on electric hookup) or muesli for me. When we are away with friends (which is most of the time) it's full English or sausage, egg or bacon bap.

Hmm 🤔 three pages so far and not one mention of the morning bonking before breakfast. Can’t do it afterwards, too full of grub 😀😂
