Mosel Meet.

We have moved to Sankt Goar on the Rhine, very breezy and humid, €23 per night with good facilities, but no ACSI unfortunately, we’ll see what tomorrow brings.

If you move just up river to Bacharach there is a Stellplatz adjoining the campsite. The campsite is Dutch owned and the bar/restaurant is very good. We had a front line pitch for 8 Euros per night and the town is just across the road. Lovely old place.

We too have moved on. Sadly, now in Calais, ready for the journey home tomorrow.

I am taking notes ready for August.

That does look nice. Any chance of telling us where it is please

Reil Mosel. Most of the Mosel stellplatz are much the same, thats the main reason for holding a rolling meet here.

I'm nterested in this, never took the mo ho to Germany before but its looking good apart from the rain bit,
@bobandjanie introduced us to the Mosel and Germany. This will be our third trip (y)

the spa grand prix is on late August has anybody camped nearby and done it?

We are crossing via the tunnel the second week in August and then planned to meander wherever the fancy took us and having read this thread the Mosel valley seems as good a place as any to head for.

Any late late stragglers we will be there end of September early October on way back :-)

We have now left the stellplatz at Trier after spending 3 days there. This stellplatz will be the starting point for the rolling meet, but I must stress its far from being one of the best places we have camped. Its big, busy, noisy and expensive at 10 Euros per night plus electric, but we needed somewhere to start this fiasco so thought I had best check it out. On the other hand Trier itself is a lovely, lively place and worth a visit. As a bonus there is the Berger camping shop a great camping shop just around the corner. Have now got my contraband and fuelled up in Luxembourg at 1-117 Emus per litre and am now on the free Aire at Arlon with free electric to top my batteries off and watch Cora tonight. Its not the prettiest Aire, but its free, so cannot complain.

We'll be around the Mosel 3rd week of August after spending the first in France. Plan to stay at some of the following: Saarburg, Fassian, Rachtig, Wintrich and Sun Park at Bernkastel Kues to get the dog sorted

We're currently at Zeltingen-Rachtig - a lovely river front location, the stellplatz is 10E including all services and electric. It's hissing it down! Hoping for better weather tomorrow - good job we stocked up at lidl at Bernkastel this morning!

We have baked during the last few weeks and the rain is now most welcome. Hope it picks up for you.

Forget those squabbles taking place in Singapore.
The serious 'Negotiations' are underway in Chez Emmit re this.

Did I say negotiations
SWMBO has said she'd like to go to the Moselle.

Nuff said.

I understand that 'Dreckly' is what the local populace say when they wish to fool us Emmits into believing that the task will be undertaken ASAP. This is invariably not quite the case.

It therefore follows that this Tyke, who is currently undertaking missionary work down here, I'm trying to teach them how to spend money, a difficult task, even for a Yorkshireman.
It therefore follows that we will be be arriving on the Moselle, 'Dreckly' (Sometime in September)???

Gud luck on that en, cos thas gunna need it..

Anyone been on the "Knaus" site in Koblenz whats it like for access
(big) ?

Off to the Mosel on Wednesday, just wondering if anyone knows anywhere it is safe/permissible to let our Springers have a run? They are fine on a lead, but need to 'unwind' with a good run now and then.
thanks

Having loved the Moselle in our camping days, many decades ago, have been meaning to go back with the MoHo.
Trouble is, every time we get to France and look at the weather apps it always looks warmer and sunnier further south.
September sounds like the perfect time to go back BUT it's also the time for all the wine fest's so might be really crowded.
We don't do crowds and noise (spent a lifetime working in all that) so my question to you Moselle regulars is:- Just how busy is it likely to be from Mid August to end September? Is it easy to find a decent spot on a Stellplatz at that time of year?

Thanks in advance. (y):D

Richard.

I wasn't on the main site very much, other than to use the services, but I certainly had no problems manoeuvring my 8.4m van around it for that.
I can't say how big the pitches are, but there were a few big vans on site.
I managed to get one of the stellplatz spaces outside the main gate.
@Baycott may be able to add more as he was there within the past couple of weeks.
