Mosel Meet.

Very busy at Thieu last night. Plus the old Belgian fisherman ain't too happy that he cannot park his car next to the canal. Came along tooting and shouting at 0645 this morning. Silly old fool.

When we were there , the mohos were coming in and parking nose to tail along the water front , I was parked about 15ft back from the quayside and parallel, as there were a couple of boats moored , two decided to squeeze in, no thought for those on boats . The fisher was there then . There was plenty of room up the other end , its flat , and as there is no hookups no real reason to park in a particular spot . The "herding" instinct seems very odd to me? I think he toots to wake the fish Up :)

Just caught up again with this thread. We are thinking of maybe going over to Europe for a week or two at the end of September and early October and the Moselle is a place we have always wanted to visit.

Will anybody still be there at that time? Are there any wine festivals etc then or are we too late for those?

Many thanks

Thanks. What sort of weather can you expect in late September and early October please?
Well Betty Swallocks is with us Peter we’ll be around till about 6 Oct, lovely place especially if you like Reisling (Trocken or dry for me)

Going for a walk into town today and may stay another day

We've landed at Enkirch after an aborted attempt to get in at Traben. It's a massive Stelplatz and although there are loads of 'vans on site, there's still plenty of room. Lekky is in short supply however. (The sockets, not the actual juice) After a false start, we managed to get a pitch with a good view facing upriver

Sorry to see you leaving @Scout. Have a good journey home.

It depends on the weather for us. If the weather stays as it is or even cooler( v. warm at the mo.) I see no reason to move on.

Oops!! ! The above should have been an answer to @peterc10 post at 9.01 this morning.

Just me playing with my phone. I don't usually post photos via it.

We are at camping Knaus on the Mosel, tried for the one nearer the town, but they wouldn't take 3 vans for a few nights. Site is ok ACSI and not too far a walk so will be going later when it cools down 32.4 in the van and guess who told me we wouldn't need the fan. Hope to meet up with some funsters on this trip. I am the only one of the 3 vans, well if the others are memmbers they aint owning up to it.
Only drawback so far Bloomin Trains.

We stoped and picked up some wine at Reil ( look out for the whitchs broom stick. Its yellow and green, 100 yrds past the bridge) were now at somewhere begining with S and rrying a nice criisp riesling
