Mosel Meet.

They didn't want our business, as we walked up the waitress was sitting down having a fag and a beer and she was furious we disturbed her
We have found some French restaurants like this at the end of the season the staff are laid off but they are still busy with only one waiter waitress!
Why don’t we get nibbles and bread like the French? Noticed that after 3 different meals( is it an English Brexit thing!!)

Keep a look out for the book, "From here you can't see Paris" which follows an American family and the way a french restaurant operates in all manner.
At the end of the book the author goes into some details on the whys and wherefores of exactly why you might not get what the table next door gets (and loads of other good information). It's an eye opener.

Arrived at Zell, about 3 pitches available at the moment, think a couple more might be leaving

Anyone seen this Super Cub on floats? I have seen it several times around Piesport.

It landed on the river at Kesten (slightly North of) yesterday. Typical, he didn't do a fly past first so I didn't have the camera out.

Where did the buggers go?

Mrs Emmit would like to know from any Funsters who have visited Enkirch if they know of the locality of the Washing/Dryer facilities at this site.

Apparently, she is running out of clean 'smalls':whistle::whistle:

Went for a training walk this afternoon from 'our' Stellplaz in Keston, up the hill to Monzel and then on, through the vineyards (the whole way) to Mulheim. I then returned on the road back to base.

I keep wondering what happened to all the 'Old' bridges across the Moselle:whistle:

@Emmit the stelplatz at graach called Sun park have washing and drying facilities but you have to ask. We did our laundry there and it was a nice stelplatz. We walked into Bern kastel kues along the cycle path.
Apparently there is a launderette up on the retail park near aldi in Zell. @JockandRita were going there this morning.

Marg found this whilst we were wandering around Zell, if you haven’t got it, I’d get one, it’s a fascinating read about the wines you are probably imbibing at present.

View upriver from the footbridge at Zell, Stellplatz on left in trees where we are.

@dabhand. Simon, we are all up at the other Stelplatz, next to the road bridge. 4 x stes of Funsters, with another arriving this morning. ;)

@Emmit. As Gary says, the retail park above Zell, has a couple of washers and a dryer behind the Globus Supermarket. Aldi & Lidl in the same area, and TUV if you need an Umwelt Plakette.

Am really happy you all enjoyed it. We had been on the Mosel since the beginning of May all but for a couple of weeks back in the UK :). My liver had almost been destroyed in Reil and I needed well earned RnR. We are now ensconced on a lovely campsite, (yes, you read right, campsite) next to a huge lake just outside Munich for a few days before trundling down to Geneva.
The Mosel meet has been a huge success and I see know reason not to repeat it next year. The idea of a rolling, hop on hop off meet came to me a few years ago when I organised a similar thing in Morocco. Unfortunately at that time family circumstances stopped me from attending, but those that had expressed interest went on and enjoyed it immensely.
I know how difficult it is to plan ahead for a normal meet as life sometimes gets in the way, but a longer term rolling hop on hop off meet does not take much pre planning and gives more choice of dates.
I used to enjoy the shows and meets, but have found that you have to book months in advance for them nowadays, and to be honest, I have no idea what life will throw at me tomorrow let alone in a few months time, so I have given up on booking anything nowadays. Once again, I would like to thank everyone for a great response to this idea, and hope you all enjoyed it as much as we have. Look forward to the next one.

Well done Dave, it was your thread and all the comments that got me interested, been here a week now on our 4th Stellplatz and it feels like a month. I know what you mean about your liver, hey,ho sorry we didn’t meet up, enjoy the rest of your sojourn, and be prepared to beat your liver to death with a big stick after Munich!(y)
