Anyone at Mosel Beach Stellplatz, Mehring? We expect to arrive about 11:00 a.m. Is it very busy at the moment?
We are doing a recce down there this am ready for a move mon am so hope not too busy :) @Dudess

Enjoy while you can. There’s a Spar, a Bakerei and a couple of other shops in the village. Chemical toilet is behind the cafe (up the steps to the road and turn right).

Last night the Harbour Meister was throwing a party with free drinks! :D

Unfortunately, we couldn't make it!!!:(:(:(

We had a delicious meal at the restaurant at Mosel Beach when we were there.
Kate had what she described as the best ever Vienner Shnitzell (spilling?) and I had a steak. A big slab of meat, beautifuly cooked and not a scrap of fat or grot on it.
Service was spot on too.

Richard.

Campsite at Koblenz looks full!

Satnag took us on a scenic detour this morning so that we accidentally bypassed the planned overnight spot at Tries, and Cochem too. Now installed at Bruttig. Pleasantly hot.

Are you at Mehring? Mosel Beach? If so we're off to the bar in 30 mins - see you there? We were parked next to you at Totana earlier this year so you might recognise us.

Hi, we're doing exactly the same next Wednesday, please let us know how full Peruwelz is and whether you find an alternative
Thanks
Arrived about 3.00pm on Sunday and 2 places left on front with electric, continued to fill up to about 6.00pm with 17 vans.
Now at Saarburg for couple of days before moving up the Mosel.

Sven our resident barman and chef has shut shop for a week and taken himself off on holiday, so am thinking of digging the van out on Thursday and having a steady trundle across to Munich for the Octoberfest. No hurry as I do not have to be in Geneva until end of the month.

We arrived at Trier 5 o'clock ish after an abortive attempt to get to Saarburg. We came across a road closure after crossing the mosel on the Luxembourg border, we had decided to go off the motorway after Luxembourg and enjoy the country side, lol our 12 km detour for Saarburg ended up at the same village we saw the diversion signs. The sat nav and detours took us up around some hills and bends so headed off to Trier. Think we got the last place in the first Trier stellplatz just over the bridge. No funsters here, 3 brit vans only. Will spend a couple of nights here so we can visit Trier in the morning. Stocked up with vino just inside Luxembourg

Hi Jimbo, we did exactly the same yesterday ended up at Trassem again with road closed, so we went onto google maps and ignored sat nav and diversion signs, after a few very narrow roads we eventually made it to Saarburg approx 1 hour later, lovely town.
Heading to Mehring tomorrow.
Mike

Yes, we stayed there last night, and shopped this morning. Are you the Brit couple with the two dogs, who later parked up at Globus?

BTW, whilst up at the Aldi/Lidl car park, I called in to the TUV Staion there, and managed to get myself another Green (4) Umwelt Plakette ;) to replace the one I lost when the blooming windscreen was replaced. :(
I'm just glad I didn't have to shown my V5. ;)

We are at Ediger-Eller, and will be catching the 10.00 hrs boat tomorrow, for Traben Trarbach, returning at 17.05 hrs.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

It really depends on where you want to be Simon. Somewhere around Trier is about "middle for diddle", where you can go north or south, after filling up with cheaper Diesel and Autogas in Luxembourg. There are hundreds of Stellplatz to choose from, but like the French Aires, the earlier you arrive, the more chance you have of getting in, and possibly a decent spot.

Although we have made our way slightly north, if the weather dictates, there is nothing to stop us from heading south again.
Anyway, I thought you had already decided that the weather was going to be crap, and that you were headed for wrmer climes? ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Jock I had, but someone said it was warm, you Scots are far too hardy! If it’s really cold I can go to the med, But I’ve never been to the Mosel and fancy it, I have also bought a coat and some thermals;) so should be ok, and on the dark nights we can have a cuddle and a wee dram:rolleyes: Can I get somewhere nice from Cité Europe, anyhow what’s the weather like

@dabhand The site we are on at Klusserath is do-able from Calais and Mehring is a bit closer but if full you would definitely be able to get on Klusserath , when turning in from hiway turn right for stellplatz as caravan site is left

Lovely mini-meet last night at Mosel Beach Stellplatz with @BILL 875 Bill and Lynne and @Scout Phil and Andrea, and of course our Barley. . We're moving on today to Neumagen-Dhron but the others are staying at least for another night.
