How strict are they with alcohol in the M/H? We were unable to buy any in the far south.

Depends on whoever "checks" your vehicle at your entry point, or even if. They can, of course, get "jobsworth" but in reality are unlikely to make an issue of it with foreign motorhomers, it's returning locals they target. Being stupid, of course, WILL attract attention but I've heard it said a bottle noticed left casually lying around makes an excellent "gift".................! It is possible to purchase alcohol in the larger towns, asking a site "Guardian" will usually reveal a source. The hypermarket chains often have a separate dedicated area, designed to be off-limits to Muslims but never is. Morocco does in fact produce some very nice wine and beer. How strict are they with alcohol in the M/H? We were unable to buy any in the far south.

You should have no problems, lots of strange conversions all over the place varying from a motorised tricycle to an ex-fire truck, including lots of converted coaches - ex-Parisian buses are popular. Some of the mountain roads could be challenging but if you don't wander off track you should be okay. Might have to be careful with campsites though, as those types tend to "wild camp" and site pitches are designed to get the maximum number of "guests" onto the site! "Guardian" camping should be no problem. See my article in Resources for more info on that.Hi all, has anyone risked it with a 12m vehicle or are we being silly. We would like to go, bit scared of the process but heard mostly good things from others on campsites we have met over the years about Morroco, any advice would be welcome. If we are too big then we won’t go!
You can buy your booze in Carrefor Essouria, or you could when we were last thereHow strict are they with alcohol in the M/H? We were unable to buy any in the far south.

Count me in Portland I'm always up for a bit of discountI have just received an email from Carlos saying he cannot quote for crossings in January at the moment. If the people who are thinking of going to Morocco in January get together and decide on a date to cross he will no doubt offer a discount as he has done previously. Perhaps we could discuss this say in late November to see the numbers
It was my understanding that no UK insurance companies offered a green card for Morocco any longer, however I would love to be proved wrong; anyone know differently?Just about to renew our Motorhome Insurance. With Morocco in mind, who covers it green card wise?
Great feed back thanks. Good that we won’t use part of our 90days.Feb/March is a good time for Morocco, as long as you head south pretty quickly - the north stays much like Spain weatherwise but past Agadir it warms up nicely without being overbearing. No experience of taking a car on a trailer but the Germans seem to like buggies and small off-road type vehicles - bit extra paperwork as you need to "import" the trailered car as well as the van.
Wouldn't expect to see a rally as such but folk often cross over in small groups then arrange to meet up later. Popular destination for this is Tafraoute, in the southern Atlas mountains, coinciding with the Almond Festival. Have seen a dozen Funsters parked up there on one occasion.
I'd suggest a minimum of 4 weeks in Morocco otherwise the cost of the ferry is relatively high and you'll need all of that to "see the sights", it's quite a big country. We stay between 6-8 weeks but others go for longer (much longer if you get trapped when the ferries are cancelled, as a few Funsters know................!)
So does NFUThink Saga does Mark Brenton
So does NFU
Let us know how it goes mate, done Greece but fancy Turkey.Hoping to also be going early January 2023
Currently halfway down the Adriatic side of Italy getting this weekend ferry to Greece from Brindisi then touring around Greece and Turkey until early June then heading back home, then off again July until early September so by the time we've all that done we'll need a holiday in Maroc
If you could stretch going to Mons in Belgium there is a good vet that a few people have got pet passports from me included. We are still planning a January crossing - I have an AHC question...
We will have AHC to get through France and Spain - then if we exit to Morocco for say 6 weeks will the AHC still be valid to get back into Europe or will be have to jump through more hoops?
We are going across to France for three weeks next week - probably not too far from Calais area - does anyone know a vet locally that could issue a Pet Passport which would make life much easier (and cheaper)?
Thanks
Thanks - vet does look good - does she need a residence address in France or Belgium? This is the vets.
Easy parking outside and a very friendly lady, she does like cash though

We normally stay at Strepy boat lift then it’s an easy 10 min drive to see her for thr pups worming tablets.
She’s not the cheapest but good with our dogs so worth it.
Maybe get a Spanish passport on your way through to Morocco? We are still planning a January crossing - I have an AHC question...

I think LV do, sadly they have a weird way of quoting based on a list of chassis's and ours is not on it.It was my understanding that no UK insurance companies offered a green card for Morocco any longer, however I would love to be proved wrong; anyone know differently?
My NFU is minimum cover so not even fire and theft.I think NFU is third party only
